New Digital Challenge Blog

Image
Hi All A quick post from me today and a thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts A new digital blog challenge is starting tomorrow it is called Digitally Made and will be a monthly challenge when it starts for real tomorrow. As an opener they have a short challenge as they count down. This is the last day to enter and you need to have All digital makes and include a number for this challenge. I thought the countdown was appropriate. I do all my digital and photographic work in Paint Shop Pro 10 and usually use some of my own photographs for the projects. The background here is a photograph I took at Illuminasia in Blackpool, with a digital camera . Looking forward to joining in with the new challenges Love Chrissie xx

Hello Everyone. Nice to have you call in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit and comments. So far my week hasn't been very crafty at all but I am preparing for another project with strips of material so that will take time. At Go Tag Thursday this week the theme is tickets. I have lots of old train tickets and I am pleased I saved them as ours now seem to be paper if you get them on the train and they don't seem useful at all. I used my tickets from a journey we made last week though the train isn't like the ones on our route. I thought the blue clip at the top went well with the tag Tag Tuesday has Heritage as the theme and was chosen by Wilma.  I realised I hadn't done a tag with for my mum so had to put that right as she taught me so many things, especially sewing and knitting. She never handed down the gene with the very small waist as hers was only 19 inches when she got married. All of the things she taught me had been handed down to her by her mother

Hi All hope your week is going well so far. Thank you for dropping by and I am sure you are here to find out about the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday .  We love to see what you make for the challenges and hope you like what we make to inspire you. You can make anything you like so long as it follows the theme for the next 2 weeks and you follow our few rules. The theme this time is Transport. Anything you can ride on or in will be fine. Lots of idea from the rest of the team if you visit the TIOT blog  I have started a new scrapbook using a loose leaf folder with plastic covers. This is the front and back of the first page I haven't decorate the front of the book yet so maybe another challenge will encourage me to do that A, hopefully, clearer view of the pages before they were put into the plastic cover. A reminder that you still have a week to join us at Tag Tuesday with your take on the challenge there. This time Wilma, one of our team, has chosen the theme Heritage The mo

Hi All. So pleased you called in and thank you for your visit. Every Inchie Monday has Butterfly as the theme this week so it is something a bit easier to tackle At Altered Book Lover  Elizabeth is our host for the Tuesday get together with a drink related post. Happy T Day to everyone who drops by from there and thank you for your visits to my blog each week This is my attempt at a really healthy meal last week and it has worked because I now feel back to normal again after the awful cold and cough. I do like fruit on a salad though Vic always says it looks very strange. Yesterday I had a full sliced apple in my porridge with some cinnamon and it is definitely the way forward for me. Not been out much so nothing exciting to report. Have a great week T friends. At Art Journal Journey the theme is Magical Mystery Tour and was chosen by lovely Hazel This is a photograph Vic took at Grassington a few years ago. We went on a coach trip for the day to visit the area. We hadn't gone far

Happy Earth Day and Happy Bearth Day

Image
Hello Everyone and thank you for your visit. Earth Day flag Thanks to Elizabeth I know that today is Earth Day and also her 'Bearthday' as well Tea cosy made from old wool Elizabeth has been doing recycling projects all this month so I hope you will pop to see what she has been doing. I recycle all the time in my crafting and also in my other life as well because it is what I was taught to do when I was growing up just after the war. Even if you had money there wasn't much to buy. My grandmother made wedding dresses for the family from old parachute material and nothing was ever wasted at all by her or by most people. I decided to do a biggish project for my Earth Day recycle. We had a pile of clothes to throw away as they weren't even fit for the charity shop, they had paint on them and various holes here and there. I was going to cut them up for rags then had another idea. A few weeks ago Yvonne went to Beamish and I recalled when we went there, the little cottages

Hello Everyone who visits Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. The week is racing by as always but I am pleased to say I am feeling much better now and even ready to face the car boot sale this morning as I want to find more supplies for my new/old crafty hobby. More of that at a later date. At Moo Mania and More the theme this time is Faces and at Go Tag Thursday there is a new theme starting today to use Pink/lots or a little. I cut-out the background picture from an old birthday card and stuck it onto some packaging. Then I found the 'faces' on a free to use journal front and printed them out. The flowers are cut from old wall paper At Tag Tuesday we have Wilma hosting this time and she has chosen Heritage as the theme because it was World Heritage Day when the challenge started on Tuesday. I hope you will join us with your take on the theme. It lasts for 2 weeks so plenty of time to think what to make. Today I have chosen my dad as he was a great inspiration in

Hi All. Another post from me so soon after the last one. Thank you for calling in and I hope you will join in with us at Tag Tuesday with this new theme by our team member  Wilma  and learn about her choice of the theme She has chosen Heritage as the theme. My grandmother and grandfather who taught me about music and history She was Irish and he was from a village near Nottingham in England On this tag is a photograph of Whitby Abbey that I took. It is a place we visit quite often and on different days the atmosphere of the place changes. It is known all over the world as part of Bram Stokers inspiration for the Dracula book. You can learn more about that here Don't forget to join us at Try It On Tuesday for our Add a Quote theme Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Inchie and T stands for Birthday Bash

Hi All. Hope your day has gone well. I am now feeling a lot better and thank you to every one who wished me well when they visited Jumbled Crafts. Welcome to my latest follower Dorte. Every Inchie Monday have the theme Bug/Lady beetle. Such a lot of names for ladybirds and they are so small and beautiful Not sure why mine looks a bit grey in parts as it looks black on the small version. Welcome if you have arrived from Elizabeth's blog and her drink related T Day post. Happy T Day to you all. I haven't been out much at all this last week as I had a dreadful cold and cough. This meant that I missed my MIL's special meal for her 88th birthday. It was at a very nice place that we had never been to. Vic went and said it was really great and he will take me there sometime. They had a starter, main course and pudding and glass of wine. The man is MIL's friend  Bill. He is such a lovely chap and also in his 80s. I think this is the main course though the starter looked just

Digital Collage and Canvas

Hi All and Happy Easter if you celebrate this festival. Nice to have you take time to call in-thank you I am feeling a lot better now but staying inside as the wind is very cold.  At Moo Mania and More the theme for this challenge is Egypt Here are an Egyptian couple erecting a new pillar in the lounge-well maybe or maybe not. I have done a mixed project and it is for two challenges.   At More Mixed Media the challenge is Anything Goes with added yellow as an option and at Mixed Media World Anything Goes with watercolour somewhere on the project Not sure if this a canvas, a picture or just a project.  It started out as a water colour painting of a tree as I followed a tutorial online. As it looked nothing like a tree so I turned it into a flower and cut it out to use. The card was torn from an old box and painted white then I added drops of alcohol ink onto the wet paint. Next some embossing using a stencil . This was all stuck onto a background made of torn pieces and printed quotes

Hello Everyone. I hope the sun is shining where you and that it is a bit warmer than it is here. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts on your way through Blogland. At Art Journal Journal we are invited by Hazel to take a Magical Mystery Tour At the moment I have an awful cold and cough so I am not really in the mood for a lot of crafting--more wrapping up warm and falling asleep. I went down the digital route for this collage and used some wonderful digital stamps by With Wild Abandon. The background I made up with psychedelia and a flower. Just had to turn this into a tag as well to say that you still have until late on Monday to join in with us at Tag Tuesday for the Things with Wings theme hosted by Joan and she has a random prize for one lucky draw winner. Go Tag Thursday would like Spring or Easter tags this week so I have done a mix and match tag. I love the way we always get the heads up for the theme for the next week and it means if I have time I can make it in advance a

T Stands for Tasty and Add a Quote at Try it on Tuesday

Hi All and thank you for calling in. At Elizabeth's blog it is time for T Day and the poor love is having some problems with her blog so I am hoping I can add this link.( just visited there and all is sorted by the looks of things-so pleased) We went to Filey and to a cafe where they do a wonderful breakfast and coffee. It is only a small place but has the air of somewhere much larger and fancier. I just love that it has notices that say--- 'We Are Only a Small Cafe so Please Sit Positively.' We tucked ourselves into a corner on a table for two. Happy T Day All It is time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday where we would like you to add a quote to your make this time. So many quotes to choose from that I am sure you will have wonderful ideas. If you haven't and need inspiration, call in at TIOT and see what the rest of the team have made to give you some ideas. All you have to do then is follow our simple rules and have fun. Two weeks to make something and any m

Inchie and journal pages

Happy start of the week everyone who calls in and thank you for your visit. It was great to see I have now reached 150 followers but to have any at all is always a good feeling. I am so lucky to have visitors every time I post something. At Every Inchie Monday this week we have crow as the subject. I should know plenty about those birds as we have loads near to where we live. Now we have starlings nesting under our roof tiles at the front of the house and the back as well. I guess they are trying to hide from the crows, seagulls and magpies that try to steal their eggs. More Mixed Media have Anything Goes with an option to use yellow. Definitely mixed as I designed the black and white background in Paint Shop Pro with some brushes that I had made then I printed it out. I used white pen as a highlighter and some colour with Promarkers. Next I cut out flowers from a seed catologue and also drew flowers here and there to fill in the spaces on the pages. Thanks for the idea of the flower

Tag and Journal Page

Hello Everyone and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. At Tag Tuesday this time  our teamie Joan is hosting the challenge and she has chosen the theme Things with Wings so long as this isn't birds. I hope you will join us with the your take on the theme. My third tag for the challenge is butterflies so more conventional than the first 2. Art Journal Journey has the theme Magical Mystery Tour and lovely  Hazel is their host this time. What a magical journey it would be to have all four seasons in one day. I can't get the Sting song out of my head now :0( With her smile as sweet as a warm wind in summer  She's got me flying like a bird in a bright June sky  And then just when she thinks that I've got her number  Brings me down to the ground with her wintry eye  That's my baby  She can be all four seasons in one day Hope you have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Tag and Photographs of cards and a robin

Hi All. I hope your week has gone well and that you are looking forward to the weekend. Today was the day my daughter and her husband were coming to stay with us, I even ordered sunshine, but unfortunately she has flu and sounded really poorly when she phoned Vic yesterday. Never mind there will be other times soon I'm sure. I did create chaos as I tried to finish 60 cards for her to take back for the Cat Protection sale. She said Christmas cards always sell well any time of year so I did some of those and a few others as well. I work so much better when the place is in chaos though I am a tidy person really and love to see it all cleared away afterwards. Chaos and cards At Go Tag Thursday this week the theme is Stamps and you can use rubber stamps or postage stamps This is a tag using used postage stamps with some of the envelope and also stamping on them with rubber stamps as well. Even the stamping by the post office is on show as well. All stuck onto a large tag. On Wednesday
