Hi All. It has been nice to have a blog break with my daughter but I did miss seeing all your wonderful makes so I will be back to calling around blogs again tomorrow. Hope you have had a great week to start the New Year. At  Art Journal Journey  the challenge for January is chosen and hosted by  Erika . The theme is Every Journal Page tells a story.  I used a piece of digital art I did in 2005 but I have made it into a book cover this time round. It tells the tale of a beautiful fashion model and the way that she really feels as she starves herself to get into the skinny clothes and stupid style high heeled shoes. A must read for the very young who think being a model is wonderful. Hi All and happy weekend. Hope you enjoy all that you have planned and thank you for your visit. There a mail art challenge at PaperArtsy  and I have just time to join in before it closes tomorrow I used one of Astrid's f reebie papers and they are beautiful enough to just use on their own for an envelope but as it is for a challenge I did do some stamping on it after printing it out onto a 5x5 inch envelope. Thank you Astrid for your kindness. Lots of small stamps added in Distressed ink. I always knit when I am watching television or I just fall asleep. Here are lots of hats I have knitted and I am hoping a neighbour will take them to the cancer unit for the patients who lose their hair. The neighbour is just finishing her chemo and her hair is growing back--I am so pleased for her. People give me lots of wool and I just love making up things I can use it for. Happy Weekend Everyone and thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts. At  Art Journal Journey  this month  Susi  is the host. We are asked to make a collage with no faces, no leaves and no wings. I have 2 pages today one painted and collaged and the other digital artwork I used mostly alcohol ink for this background then cut out the pictures from a magazine. I have had the quote emblie for years and thought it fitted in with the page The digital piece is a similar design with a background made with alcohol inks and I scratched on the pattern. This was then photographed to use digitally for future projects. At A Vintage Journey  the November theme is Cracking Up so they want to see crackle.  I am not good at crackle so I bought the large Tim Holtz 'cracks and specks' stamp and I can crackle along when I like, I stamped the crackles then embossed them and Distressed the whole page with  'vintage photo' Distressed Ink. Hi All. I hope you enjoyed the weekend. We had very mixed weather here so not a lot of walking but lots of sport watching and that is great for me. At Art Journal Journey this month Gill has hosted the theme Nature's wonders and there have been so many entries to admire. You can see them all here in one place so do go and have  a look. Still a couple of days left to join in as well. I started on my new journal with this simple page. The background is painted in pale shades though they don't show up too well on the photograph. The flower is one from our garden that I photographed and added effects before printing it and cutting it out. Flower photograph Every Inchie Monday has petunia as the subject this week I drew the flower then cut it out to stick on the inchie I knitted egg cosies this weekend while I watched sport  All of these old eggs cups cost just £1 for the lot from the car boot sale and I am going to put chocolate eggs in them. Hi All from a very sunny NE UK coast. I expect this weekend will be very busy here as it is a Bank Holiday weekend so I hope the weather stays really lovely for everyone. Thank you for calling in today. I will be watching the Grand Prix and the Rugby League Cup Final today so that's me smiling already. Lots of knitting to do as well while I watch. This is sheep pyjama case I knitted last weekend while sport watching At Dezinaworld this time the Cheeky Challenge is old lace. There are lots of free digi images there that June generously shares with all so do have a look and hopefully join in. This isn't one of June's images it is one I saved a while ago from Google of an old Balinese Grandma. I added lace head dress, borders and a frame At Go Tag Thursday this time the theme is go bold with colour I made a double sided tag for this as I just love the bright colours. Hi All. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and Thank you for dropping by. This is a scheduled post as I will be away when it is published. I will try to get around your blogs as always but not sure if I will have wifi where we are staying. Today we have the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and as always it will last for 2 weeks and you can make anything at all so long as it follows the challenge theme. I hope you will call in the TIOT blog and see the great ideas the rest of the team have had to help inspire you. This is what I have made--they are called Twiddle muffs and I make them for dementia patients. I found the pattern here and have made about 20 so far. I saw some of them in use when I took them to the care home where my mother-in-law stayed to get better. They really do work. The patients play with the textures of the wool and the things that are stitched onto the outside and the inside. They are allowed to keep them as their own. Hello Everyone. Hope your week has gone well and the weather has been better than it has here. It is more like winter than late Spring. Thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts and for your friendship and comments. My crafting at the moment is mostly knitting but I did make a page for the new theme at Art Journal Journey  where   Mary C. Nasser   has chosen the theme maps for this month. My days seem to fly by so I thought I would do a mind map of yesterday to try to think where the hours went. Today will be totally different I image and it might be nice to start a new journal and do more of these maps to see where the time is going. My sister in law is coming to stay with her Mum next week so I have knitted her a nice warm cardigan as she always seems to be cold when she comes here, also knitted a waistcoat for my MIL and a baby set for the baby that is expected next door to us. I do love to kn it and watch sport on television and today it should be Andy Murray playing...

Hi All nice to have you call in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit. It is hard to believe that the weekend is here already as the week has gone very quickly. Art Journal Journey's 'If you go down to the Woods' has lots of terrific entries and so much variety. I used one of my own photographs for both of these pages but tried different effects on each. The rabbits arranged an Easter egg hunt. Whoever found the most eggs could have the big egg in the tall tree-wonder how that got there? Mr Fox turned up and stockpiled a lot of the eggs so has his eye on the big prize. This is deep in the woods away from prying eyes and is where Rudolph spends his time waiting for his big day in December Enough of the frivolity and now for something even more frivolous :) Here is Vic modelling my latest knit for Cat Protection. Hi All. Very cold here and a bit of ice so I have decided to use that as an excuse to do a bit of crafting for a change. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. Art Journal Journey still have 'If Music Be the Food of Love' as their theme for until the end of February. As it will soon be the 29th of Feb, and a woman can ask a man to marry her on that day, I thought I would go down the bridal path for this digital creation. Lots of layers and different images melded together to create it. Thanks to Sally  for leaving a comment on an earlier knitting post suggesting I might like to try Twiddlemuffs as a project. Well I have done and I took one to the care home where my MIL is staying at the moment. Happy New Week everyone and thank you for joining me here at Jumbled Crafts. Cold and wet here so far today with a forecast for snow that never seems to arrive-not sure if that is good or bad as I do like the brightness of snow but the awful slush afterwards isn't very pleasant. I have  a lot of crafty projects on the go but none of them seem to get finished at the moment except for things that can be done while I watch the rugby on television. This week at Every Inchie Monday the theme is beer-so cheers to all of you as I  raise a tankard of foaming Ale. Rugby watching and knitting go very well together and particularly if it is in chunky wool and very big needles. My daughter brought lots of these patterns and the wool to knit them for the Cat Protection Fund Raising. I thought they would be nice little pyjamas cases but these would fit the nightwear of all the family in them I think. Good Morning Everyone from a wet NE UK coast. The plants needed some rain so they all look happy. My MIL is visiting today to bring something for Vic's birthday tomorrow. She would have liked to come tomorrow but I am whisking him off for a swim, sauna and steam at the Crown Spa Hotel in Scarborough. Well I'll enjoy the swim but I won't like the other stuff - I know Vic will. The things we do for love eh? Hi All from a damp and cold NE UK coast. Such a contrast from yesterday when the beach and seafront were crowded and people were even brave enough to be in the sea swimming. Thank you for your visit and I hope the weather is nice where you are. At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is knitting This is my inchie with a bit of knitting on part of a cocktail stick. Wonder what everyone else will for this? A new Challenge blog called Stamp and Stencils has its first challenge posted and the theme is Anything Goes  I made a card for a neighbours birthday The web stencil is by Dream weaver and the stamp by Kanban. I used Grunge Paste for the stencil and Distressed Stains to colour here and there. I also did the stamping with a Distressed stain but not sure that worked as well as I had hoped. When I had taken a photograph of the card I made a matching envelope by printing out the photographed image.

Hi to all who visit Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in to see what is on offer in this post. At Every Inchie Monday  the theme this week is Oak I drew an acorn and leaves on a little piece of canvas then stitched it onto a felt inchie. It had to have some bling to match all the other inchies this year so I added sequins and beads to the corners. As the inchie was all I had to show today I thought I would show you what I have been knitting while I watch television. The baby hedgehog is so naughty he is now packed up in a box and ready to be posted to a new home. This is another of the patterns that my daughter bought for me with the wool to knit them. The next one is a Children in Need bear but at the moment I am knitting myself a cardigan-I started it yesterday. We have blue sky,sun and a freezing cold wind-well you can't have everything can you? At Three Muses this week the theme is Turquoise and Red and I couldn't resist making something that would fit in at Art Journal Journey  as well. As I haven't much to show you today I thought you might like to see Freddy the Teddy I finished knitting him 2 days ago from a pattern and wool that my daughter bought for me along with other toy patterns and wool. The  types of wool are ones I would never buy and are difficult to knit but lovely and soft when made into the toy. I am going to start on a hedgehog today with another wool I have never seen before. Lovely animal crafts last time for the challenge at Try it on Tuesday  and now for the new challenge.  It is Spooky  so make something that you think will fit the theme and join us for the challenge.  If you need inspiration there are lots of ideas from my fellow team mates so pop to TIOT and be inspired. I knitted two 'Zombies' The one on the left was a pattern from the Knit your Own Zombie book by Fiona Goble. The one on the right is based on the book but with my own ideas and colours etc. All you need is odd balls of wool and imagination really--as Sam says in her comment it is useful to know how to knit as well :)  Here they are on a day out to Scarborough's old cemetery-a must visit place if you are ever in the area.
