Hello Everyone. This week is racing ahead and my days seem to have been full of the great outdoors this week. Done lots of gardening, walking along the seafront and playing bowls in the back garden. The bowls is a fun idea we started last year. We play with anything that is round and the games are just Vic and Me. It is all very competitive but also lots of fun. Looks like the game will be called off today because it is raining. :( At Art Journal Journey the theme this month was chosen by Elizabeth and her beautiful cat Bluebeard. They chose the theme Summertime Love and it is wonderful to see all the different ideas that people have thought of. I used a mop up page with shimmer paint for the background then added the wonderful VW van image. Still a few of those around and I just love to see them, all lovingly restored and appearing at outdoor shows. Go Tag Thursday has Flags/ Bunting as the theme for this week.  The little flags and the white braid were leftover pieces that I c...

Almost the weekend

Image
Hi All. I hope your week has gone well and that you will enjoy the weekend. Thank you, as always, for visiting Jumbled Crafts. I made another page for Art Journal Journey where Bluebeard and Elizabeth have chosen the the theme Summertime Love. I thought of the Summer of Love in the 60s The colours and patterns were a sign of the times and the message that was being put across was strong and powerful at the time. At Moo Mania and More their theme this time is Africa I designed an ATC with a mask shape I coloured then photographed and used digitally with a patterned background and giraffe brushes I made in Paint Shop Pro. I printed it out on photopaper and it has strong colours, ready to swap. Here are a few more of the plants in our garden taken yesterday by Vic  Rowan berries on a baby rowan tree that my daughter grew from seed  Astilbes campanula--the bumbles bees have a nest under this plant fennel-the seeds and leaves taste lovely  feverfew--good for headaches  ...

Journal page Day

Hello Everyone. I hope you are enjoying the weekend and fitting in some crafting along the way .Nice of you to call in at Jumbled Crafts-thank you. I have been watching tennis and doing more knitting so the craft room is filling up with fluffy creatures.  At Country View Crafts the theme this month is Things With Wings. I added a page to one of my journals. The background is painted in pale pink then I threw on some Cosmic Shimmer while the paint was wet. I left some to act as a nest and painted the other to form part of the page. This nest was for my coloured owl that I had cut from one of my colouring books Then I stamped on some leaves, added a quote and a couple of little flowers that I coloured in pale shades. I did the pale shades as More Mixed Media has anything goes as usual but with the option to add pastels. I would like to add this to Emerald City Crafts  as well as they are having their very first challenge and it is Anything Goes but it can't be digital. The nex...

Digital Doodlings

Hi All from a damp and dismal NE UK coast. Not sure where summer has gone but I hope it just taking a day off and be back tomorrow.  Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. Hope the weather is ok at Wimbledon as I have plans to sit and watch tennis and do a bit of crafting at the same time. I did this yesterday with the following digital makes on my laptop. I know the word is 'laptop' but I usually have mine on a desk upstairs so it was new to me to use it on my lap and downstairs--felt like a whole new ball game. At Art Journal Journ ey,  Bluebeard and Elizabeth chose the theme Summertime Love and they have given us some very inspiring ideas. I think Bluebeard is the brains behind the operation and Elizabeth is the arty one. The words are from a song but I can't recall which song or who sang it. I digitally painted the background and added effects then added the couple and all the extras. At Moo Mania and More their theme is Wheels This started out with a...

Inchie and Journal Page

Image
Happy New Week everyone and I hope it will be a good one for you. At Every Inchie Monday this week the theme is hippo. A shame that our numbers have dwindled a bit at EIM but I am sure that those of us that join in enjoy it very much.  I found this wonderful hippo on a colouring site and couldn't resist colouring it in, resizing it and using it for my inchie this week A new theme for July at Art Journal Journey and Bluebeard and Elizabeth have chosen Summer time Love to get us thinking about the joys of summer. Butterflies have to be one of the most loved creatures in our garden. The background of this page is a mop up piece of kitchen roll. I stuck it to a piece of card then stuck the whole thing into my black page journal. The next thing I did was dig out a box of wooden and card embellishments that haven't seen daylight for a very long time. This was to join in the challenge at  Mixed Media Monthly with the theme Altered embellishments I  saw this on Astrid's blog...

Hello Everyone and thank you for the wonderful comments you left while I was away. I did have internet a few times but not for very long so I haven't been able to do my usual blog rounds. I will be back to normal now and look forward to seeing your makes. At Tag Tuesday dear Wendy chose Textures as her theme and it is going well. You still have a few days left to join us there with your textured tag so I hope to see your makes This tag is made of fabric that has metal drops on it. Haven't a clue how they do that but it was from quite a nice old tee shirt that I cut up. I used a plastic doillie and a metal adornment from a belt as well. Go Tag Thursday has Star or Stars as the theme for this week. Good to see more people joining in there as well. A bit of a tag revival going on I think. This is a digital tag with free to use tattoo designs and a background I made in Paint Shop Pro. At Art Journal Journey the theme chosen by Rosie is circles and runs until the end of the mon...

T Day stands for Inchie, and Journal Page

Image
Hello everyone. Welcome to my little part of Blog Land and thank your for your visit.  Happy T Day if you have arrived from Elizabeth's where she invites everyone to post a drink related post every Tuesday. I usually post mine Monday evening as Tuesday is always my 'busy' new challenge day on my blog. The new challenge tomorrow will be at Tag Tuesday so hope to see you there We went on the train to Goole as we wanted to see the Waterways Museum. Before we set off to find the museum we found this really lovely cafe in a very large but strange building. Usual toasted tea cakes and coffee and they were really nice. Not sure I would ever go to Goole again but I do have photographs to show you of our adventure there--they just need sorting out. The Every Inchie Monday theme this week is zebra I picked up the wrong colouring pen and the poor animal has a blue mane. At More Mixed Media you can make anything at all with the option this time of adding some purple to your project....

Digital Makes and Photographs

Hi All from a very wet NE UK Coast. It was a beautiful day yesterday but back to the rain again today. We will be going out to vote later and then tonight we will stop up as long as we can stay awake to watch the election results. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. At Art Journal Journey,  Rosie has chosen circles as the theme. I have lots of ideas and hope to do some actually painting of a page for this but so far time just keeps running away with me. This page is all digitally created. Various digital effects and brushes in Paint Shop Pro. The image is a photograph of an ornament and the background I painted digitally I would also like to enter this at Digitally Made  where it is their second challenge with a theme of add a quote. Thank you to them for choosing me as their winner for the first challenge, I was really thrilled. Still lots of pics from Southport I want to show you but I am trying the cull them or you will get bored with the whole thing. These are pho...

Doodles then and now

Image
Hi All. A bit cooler here today and that is fine by me as I burn so easily when it is sunny even though I cover myself in sun screen. At Altered Book Lover,  Elizabeth has a 2nd on the 2nd post each month and I haven't joined in before so thought it was about time I did. Way back in 2013 I did a doodle and also Vic took a photograph of a foxglove in our garden with a bee on it. You can see the original post here if you like. The post was on June 13th 2013 and a foxglove still grows in the same place. The one this year is taller than I am and we still have a bees nest under the fence complete with bees. foxglove then Taken this morning 2013 doodle Today I was up very early and did a doodle for the circles challenge chosen by Rosie for Art Journal Journey  Not sure my art has improved but my photographing of projects certainly has. today's doodle Hope you have a great day Love Chrissie xx
