Inchie and T stands for Birthday Bash

Hi All. Hope your day has gone well. I am now feeling a lot better and thank you to every one who wished me well when they visited Jumbled Crafts. Welcome to my latest follower Dorte.

Every Inchie Monday have the theme Bug/Lady beetle. Such a lot of names for ladybirds and they are so small and beautiful

Not sure why mine looks a bit grey in parts as it looks black on the small version.

Welcome if you have arrived from Elizabeth's blog and her drink related T Day post. Happy T Day to you all.

I haven't been out much at all this last week as I had a dreadful cold and cough. This meant that I missed my MIL's special meal for her 88th birthday. It was at a very nice place that we had never been to. Vic went and said it was really great and he will take me there sometime.

They had a starter, main course and pudding and glass of wine. The man is MIL's friend  Bill. He is such a lovely chap and also in his 80s. I think this is the main course though the starter looked just as big to me when Vic showed me the photograph.

Puds

Afterwards they went back to her house and she had made more food and a birthday cake with candles.

When she lit the candles the cake looked as though it had set on fire.

She gave Vic a few boxes of things for him to bring home for me to eat as I hadn't managed to make it to the party. I did get a piece of the cake as well.

The amazing thing is that last year at this time we didn't think she would even live as she was so ill and in a nursing home. Now she is fit as fiddle and takes herself off to all sorts of places. Never give up eh!

Love Chrissie xx

  5. What irony. Last year, you were taking care of her and this year she is taking care of you. She certainly looks fit and ready to go anywhere. She also looks very, very happy. Good for her. Now it's your turn to get better. We need you well SOON!!

HMMMM! We call them ladybugs in the states, but I have noticed you call them lady birds, at least my friends in the UK seem to. Whatever the name, it's an adorable drawing.

Thanks for sharing your latest inchie and your MIL's birthday and various drinks with us for T this Tuesday. PLEASE feel well soon.

  17. Sorry you were too sick to miss such a lovely outing, Chrissie.

Your MIL looks the picture of health. Thanks to your family for making sure we got to share in the celebration through photos. The flaming cake is awesome!

Though they are insects not birds, I prefer the British name "ladybirds" for those delightful symbols of good luck. [At least that part is the same on both sides of the Pond.] Your ladybird is lovely. The image just looks out of focus or a bit pixelated.

Hope you're back to 100% very soon ;-)

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

  19. Love the ladybird - I didn't know until last week that they emit a smell if they are moved on - not that I have ever smelled anything when our balcony becomes full of them each Spring - and I definitely move them on!! Such a shame you missed the celebration - what a difference a year makes!! Hugs, Chrisx

  20. Sorry you are feeling under the weather. What a cute inchie. In Oct. where I live, we usually have a ladybug infestation. The ladybugs get confused at some warm fall days and come out of where they settled for the winter. They don't do any harm and eat aphids in the garden. My cat, Ink, was fascinated by them. Your MIL looks very hale and hearty. Good for her. I like celebrating the coming year with a flaming glory of a cake. Glad you got to have some birthday goodies. The blue dish with the ice cream is beautiful. I'd be tempted to take the dish home. Feel better!

  21. What a shame that you had to miss the celebrations - worth celebrating indeed after all the traumas last year. But at least you got some cake!

I used to like ladybirds a lot until I moved into a house which is clearly a breeding ground. The worst was finding a nest in the toilet cistern - hundreds of them all wiggling around - definitely icky!

  22. Cute bug, Chrissie! I'm glad they saved you some goodies from the party! But, I have no idea what a T-day is, here in the States, that's short for turkey day, or Thanksgiving in November. Glad you're on the mend. c
