Christmas and Circles

Image
Hi All. Thank you for your visit today. We are back home again after a good few days when we fitted in so may things even though the weather was rather bleak at times. We went over to the west coast and it is always wetter there than our east coast. Nice to be back in the sunshine again for sure. I made these before I went away and I am looking forward to all the new challenges that usually appear on the first day of a new month. At Fussy and Fancy  the theme for this time is My Favourite Things.  I love to use Die Cuts and the card and layers are shaped with Nestabilities. I also like to use Rangers Distress Inks and especially around the edges of things as I have done on this card. Another favourite of mine is making my own flowers. These ones are knitted. Now to Frilly and Funkie and the theme there at the moment is Going Around in Circles. I decorated a bag. Firstly painted the bag with Distress Inks and made a panel to stick on. The stencil I used is by Imagination Crafts and c

Hello Everyone and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts always nice to have you here and that you leave such lovely comments. Today is the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday  and I am sure you will want to join in with our Sun, Moon and Stars theme for the next 2 weeks. The rest of team have some great ideas so pop to TIOT if you need inspiration and visit their blogs to find out more about the different projects.  I made a plaque that is now hung on the craft room wall. It started out with some small ATC size pieces of grey card cut from an old box. I drew my ideas in Sharpies for the sun, moon and stars challenge then stuck them onto Nestie shapes. Next I got a piece of another, stronger cardboard box and cut out the shape for the plaque. This was then covered with some left over wallpaper my daughter gave to me. It was such fun making this. Hope to see what you make for the challenge Love Chrissie xx

Hi All. I hope you enjoying the weekend and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. This will be my last post until next weekend as I am going on holiday. Not sure if there will be any internet or not but I am only taking my phone and not a clue how to use that for internet anyway, Vic is going to teach me today-lol. I have a scheduled post for Tuesday as it will be the start of another great challenge at Try it on Tuesday so hope you will join in with that. At Art Journal Journey this month the theme is Back to School hosted by Elizabeth who has done the job so well and I feel I know her really well after visiting her blog every day during the challenge. You can see all the entries here thanks to Valerie and Susi adding them to Pinterest. This page is for the people who said they didn't like school. I loved it and was so pleased when the holidays came to an end and I could get back to the routine,  the learning and my friends as most of us lived miles away from each other in

Digital collage and a tag

Hi All. Hope your day is going well. It has certainly turned colder  here so I am doing a bit more crafting instead of gardening and walking along the seafront. Thank you for your visit. At Dezinaworld15 June's Cheeky Challenge this week is Wings I used an image of a stamp with a plane on it--I have a few of those. Then I added a few things with wings that I had made into digital paint brushes. Go Tag Thursday has Travel as the theme for this week. I thought out of the box and made this digital image from a picture of a man travelling on an Indian Elephant with a baby elephant at the side of them. I think it must be a great way to travel Have a wonderful day Love Chrissie xx

Hi All from a dismal and foggy NE UK coast. Thank you for making the day brighter for me by calling in at Jumbled Crafts. At Art Journal Journey this month's theme is Back to School chosen by  Elizabeth  and it has been wonderful learn so much about education in other countries as well as look through lots of my old school photographs for inspiration I am the second one along on the first row in the picture.   Today I have chosen Speech Day as my theme. School prizes were given out at that gathering and form 5T scooped up many of the sports prizes and always seemed to win one special prize. It was called the Flower Cup and given to the Form Room deemed to be the best kept and tidiest in the school. All through the school our form kept our rooms amazingly tidy, clean and interesting. We had real flowers on the teachers desk, all our desks were highly polished by us and the blackboards were sparkling clean.  theirs. The blackboards were actually green not black at all. We had a box

Hi All. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts today, always great when you call in. Hope you have enjoyed your weekend and that you are looking forward to the week ahead. Today we are going to Scarborough to meet Vic's Aunt as she is staying there for a few days. Back to School at Art Journal Journey with some terrific ideas and inspiration from Elizabeth who is the hostess for this month The image of the girls is from Gecko Galz and it made me think of the first day back after the holidays when we all used to be bursting with news to tell each other and teacher. All more relaxed than when the lessons started. The background is a mop up page and I have run out of those so must get cracking on some more crafting with things to mop up. Every Inchie Monday has Infinity in mind this week. Mine isn't very original I'm afraid. Bet there are some wonderful ideas from other Inchiers. Have a good day Love Chrissie xx

Piano Card

Image
Hello Everyone. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and thank you for visiting here today. Autumn seems to have moved in quite quickly now and it is mush cooler which makes sleeping easier for sure. At Creative Carte Blanche they have a video to inspire us this time and it has so many beautiful things as inspiration I made a piano card as it is a music video and there are some balloons flying in the sky.  My balloons image was from All Dressed up Stamps and I will enter my card in the challenge there as well. I used delicate colours  and matching sticky tape on the card. The angel seemed to fit in with the song title--you need to visit Create Carte Blanche to find out what that is.  Also at  Fussy and Fancy who have asked for music this time. Have a lovely day Chrissie xx

Hi All. Back to normal for me now my daughter has gone back home. It was great having here and always lots of fun and laughter when she visits us. Thank you for calling in and I hope you like what I have made to show you today First stop Go Tag Thursday where Zoe is guest designer and has chosen Gothic as the theme I just love seeing the Goths when we visit Whitby and used two of my own photographs to make this tag  Goths do Folk Dancing at Whitby Part of the Whitby Abbey Ruins. Now to Art Journal Journey where Elizabeth is hosting her chosen theme of Back to School. You have until the end of September to join in. Sport was the only thing our form seemed to get prizes for though we were all quite bright we weren't bright enough. Someone posted a picture on Facebook of our form hockey team--I am not on Facebook so I never saw it. The one that posted it was Marie and soon she had found most of us and arranged for us to meet up at our old school. Only two of the team lived anywhere

Hi All. A bit behind with my crafting at the moment as my daughter is here and we are having a great time chatting, knitting and long walks. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts and apologies if I have been behind with commenting on your blogs this last week. At Art Journal Journey the theme for this month is Back to School and it is hosted by Elizabeth so do join in with our ideas on the theme Back to school isn't only for teachers and pupils. I was a chemistry technician in a very large comprehensive school when this was taken. I should have been able to have the holidays off work but I lived near to the school so was persuaded to go in most days to do the jobs I have scribbled around the picture. One of them was to choose a suitable person from unemployed young people who were eager to learn. Some were difficult but this boy was really nice and I am sorry I have forgotten his name. I used a mop up page, a photograph  of my own and images of the glassware. At Every Inchie

Hello Everyone and thank you for calling in  today. We have a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme is Coffee and Cream but if you would rather use two other colours instead then you can. For inspiration and ideas pop to TIOT and see what the rest of the team have made and then join in with your ideas as we love to see what you make for our challenges. If you are chosen as one of our top 5 you could be a guest designer in a future challenge. This is a digital scrapbook page with a photograph of my dad and my aunt both long since gone, unfortunately, but never forgotten. I started off with this beautiful freebie page made by Astrid . Thank you Astrid for your beautiful gifts and wonderful inspiration Next I added this and that and when it was all assembled I changed the colour to fit in with our theme for this week. Can't wait to see your makes Love Chrissie xx

Weekend Tag

Image
Hello Everyone. Nice that the weekend has come around again and that my daughter is coming to stay for a few days so we will be doing lots of chatting and crafting I'm sure. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts and for any comments that you leave for me. I have made a tag today for the Friendship theme at Anything but Cute  and also I will be entering it at Go Tag Thursday where Anything goes this time. This tag is layered with different papers and I am still struggling with paper tearing so covered the edges with Distressed Ink to hide the tears. The frame is a gold one I bought and used the white side as the gold stood out too much. The image is from Dezinaworld15 where you can find lots of free images to use. Thought you might like to see this photograph of my cousin, Anne, and me way back in the 1940s I am the big girl and she is 3 years younger.  Here we are again last year,. Anne is on the left, I am in the middle Anne's mum, my Aunt, is on the right. My Aunt is 92 in

Journal Page and about a book

Image
Hello Everyone. Thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts today. At Art Journal Journal the theme chosen by Elizabeth is Back to School and the idea of this theme is inspiring a lot of different kinds of journal pages for sure. I did a digital background with the colour blue and the school banner. Then I added images by Gecko Galz and a quote from a Tim Holtz stamp. Then I wrote the alphabet in my own scribble. I realised that Moo Mania and More have Alphabet as their theme for next two weeks so I will add it there as well. Last week I found a book for 20p and as I wanted an old book for challenges with book pages as the theme I thought it would be ideal.  The type is so small I can hardly see it in real life. The pages are yellow though they look more white in my photograph It was one of a series of books in a 2 shillings series by W. Nicholson and Sons. I have looked into the publishers and they do date back to the date on the Preface. Strange what you can find along life's w

Hi All. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. A reminder that there is still a week left for you to join us at Try it on Tuesday for the Children theme. Any type of crafting that follows our theme and guidelines would be great so do join in. Today you will also see our choice for the top 5 from the last challenge. Country View Crafts have Travel the World as their theme for this month I made a front for a journal The main images are from Luna Girl and a stamp by Rogue Redhead  The quote from Tim Holtz and labels are all Tim Holtz as well. I just used crumbled brown paper for the background and designed the Autumn Leaves paper myself Altered Eclectics is always anything goes so long as it is something altered and follows their rules. The challenges lasts for the whole of September I covered a box box Box taken apart Painted inside left over wallpaper to cover outside reassembled Belt--a 50p find at a car boot sale. I used some of this to make the fastener. The ties are

Hello Everyone. Hope you like what you find here today and thank you for calling in. Busy weekend sport watching and knitting so I am looking forward to do some 'real' crafting today. Art Journal Journey are going 'Back to School' this month and it is hosted by Elizabeth who has some very original ideas to inspire us. I have made a plaque of my four favourite subjects at school though writing should have been English really as my writing wasn't great and still isn't. I did win a pen when I was in the junior school. It was for my script writing but that was when we had a bit of wood with a nib and dipped it an ink pot. Every Inchie Monday has mice as the theme for this week. You could still join in with all us there and make little pieces of art-it is such fun. I drew the three blind mice then cut them out to stick on the inches. What a strange things to have in a nursery rhyme. I have been studying nursery rhymes this week for another challenge. I had forgotte

Tag and Scrapbook page

Hi All. Nice that September has started off bright and sunny here on The NE UK Coast. I am half watching the adult seagulls teaching the baby ones to fly. They are using a roof opposite my window as a nursery and all day long different babies arrive to be taught--what a noise they all make. It is fun to see that they do have different characters and some make the trip to the harbour quite quickly while others don't seem to want to leave the roof at all. They nest on an industrial estate a short way from here so how they get to the roof opposite I haven't a clue-maybe short hops. At Go Tag Thursday the theme is Hats. I always think Hats is a fun theme with so many different kinds to choose. The picture is from a PSP tutorial I wrote way back on 2005 and I have blinged it up a bit with jewels and sparkly tape. Now to Digitally Sweet Challenges for their theme and that is to use   Lozzy's Digi Paper Designs to make a scrapbook page. I just won some beautiful Luna designs at D

A bit of this and that

Hi All A bit late in the day for me but I have been out and about and also helping a neighbour with her knitting. I hope that you are enjoying your day and nice that you called in at my blog. At Art Journal Journey the theme for this month is being hosted by Bluebeard and Elizabeth  and it is Back to School. At Make my Monday they have the same theme so I will enter my page there as well I made a bright background then added the girl and blackboard image. I had filled in the blackboard. I liked the school bus image so added that as well as the wonderful quote. Last of all came the frame with a scroll and mortar board. Moo Mania and More are asking for Nature's Beauty and that means lots to choose from. I have chosen one my own photographs as the centre piece for my entry Last but not least I have made a piece for June's cheeky challenge at Dezinaworld15  where the theme this time is Sparkle and she would like to see some gems or jewels. The beautiful lady is one of June's
