Weekend Tag
Hello Everyone. Nice that the weekend has come around again and that my daughter is coming to stay for a few days so we will be doing lots of chatting and crafting I'm sure. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts and for any comments that you leave for me.
I have made a tag today for the Friendship theme at Anything but Cute and also I will be entering it at Go Tag Thursday where Anything goes this time.
This tag is layered with different papers and I am still struggling with paper tearing so covered the edges with Distressed Ink to hide the tears. The frame is a gold one I bought and used the white side as the gold stood out too much. The image is from Dezinaworld15 where you can find lots of free images to use.
Thought you might like to see this photograph of my cousin, Anne, and me way back in the 1940s I am the big girl and she is 3 years younger.
Here we are again last year,. Anne is on the left, I am in the middle Anne's mum, my Aunt, is on the right. My Aunt is 92 in October but still lives in her own house and has all sorts of interests. Anne is definitely the bigger girl now and towers over me. Pleased to say we are still great friends
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
How lovely - the tag, the old photo, the new photo - makes the sentiment so real.
ReplyDeleteFabulous tag Chrissie - when you said about struggling with the paper tearing - do you wet the bit you are tearing using a paint brush first? this usually works for me if I don't want to tear into a part of what ever it is.
ReplyDeleteaww that's a lovely photo of you with your cousin and Aunt - your Aunt looks amazing for her age.
Have a wonderful weekend and lovely fun time with your daughter.

Lovely and refreshing tag Chrissie. LOVE your photo and your Aunt, wow, she looks good for 92, definitely young,..xx
ReplyDeleteI agree that this tag is ANYTHING but cute. It is simply adorable, vintage, and romantic.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely back story of your wonderful cousin and how the two of you are still close friends touched me. It and the photos are so very personal, and I adore them.
You commented about your owls. I guess I'm the same way about my rocking horses. We all seem to collect something, and I think we collect things that are important to us. Owls are certainly beautiful, I just never thought to collect them. Glad they make you so happy.
I forgot to mention your daughter's visit sounds like a holiday!
ReplyDeleteI enoy very much looking at you trio's happy faces. And you and your cousin are so adorable and bring me memories from my red cardigan that was jus same style and my mather had made it to me.
ReplyDeleteYour tag is gorgeous every way. Love it ♥❤
Have a wonderful weekend ☺
Hi Sweetie, lovely tag, and I love the photos. Unbelievable that your Aunt is 92. Have fun with Linda. We had a great day at the Stamp mecca, was fun. Have a nice weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHi Chrissie. Hope you are enjoying your family weekend. Love your card, love the colours and i love the torn edges. I often like to colour torn edges either a shade darker or lighter than the paper is. Your photo's are fun to see too. Your aunt looks incredible for her age and you and your cousin look like you are, friends for life. x
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in your friendship tag, Chrissie, and the torn edges look fine to me. The photo is rather sweet too... but not as sweet as seeing a real pic of you and your cousin through the ages!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic tag and I loved the connection to your own family story. The photos look super. I had no brothers or sisters so my cousins are special to me. Enjoy having your daughter to stay, I'm sure you will have a super catch up and talk all day long.

A Wonderful tag, love the image and colours. The younger you reminds me of how I used to look, the era I suppose. A Wonderful photo of your cousin and Aunt, that generation were made of stern stuff.

Love your tag Chrissie, and it's lovely to see your family photos. It's great that you have been friends for so long.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post Chrissie! First of all that tag is lovely, beautifully put together. Great photos, both you and your cousin way back in the 40s and then what you look like now! Unbelievable your aunt is in her nineties! She looks not a day older than 70.... Wow, that's how I would like to grow old, I wonder what her secret is...
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a fab weekend Chrissie.
ReplyDeleteLoving your Tag this week...Thank you for joining in with the challenge at Go Tag Thursday..xx
What a wonderful throwback picture and story to go along with it. Fantabulous tag and the use of the distress ink on the torn edges is so nice. Beautiful configuration and I would have used the white side of the frame as well. :) Your sentiment is spot on. Awesome sauce tag!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at Anything But Cute for our "Friends" challenge. Hugz. ~Niki DT

ReplyDeleteIt's lovely that you are still friends after all these years. Your Aunt certainly doesn't look 92 - fabulous lady.
