Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. I am sure some of you will be here to see what the latest challenge is at Try it on Tuesday . Always exciting every two weeks when we start a new challenge. Lots of inspiration by the team as well if you visit TIOT.  The theme this time is Hearts and Flowers. I made something to give to Vic on Valentine's Day Inside it will have real seed packets when I find out which ones he would like this year. We always get lots of seed catalogues in the post and he orders lots of seeds from them so I will pay for them this time. Good old Amazon envelope with the sides cut off to make a folder shape Covered with some of the beautiful papers from this book my daughter gave to me when she gave up paper crafting. That's about it really except for using a couple of envelopes to make pockets and some pictures of seed packets. Have fun with the challenge Love Chrissie xx

Hi All. Second post for me today as there will a scheduled post for tomorrow and might get a bit crowded if everything comes at once. Welcome to anyone from the T Gang Tag Tuesday this week has the theme Square Grids and Mosaics. I made one of each. Be sure to pop in next Tuesday to hear news about changes to Tag Tuesday  I used to help my daughter when she was making big patchwork quilts and sewing every stitch by hand.It involved cutting out lots of shapes from thin card then bigger shapes from the materials she was using. Then the material ones were tacked to the card ones. A real labour of love though she did buy me a special quilter's square rule to help with the process. This is a tag to represent those days. This is a mosaic background and a photograph of another of my daughter's projects. She did a large tapestry picture of a Samurai warrior and I took a photograph and made him into a Paint Shop Pro Brush. This is a digital piece with other PSP brushes I added as well.

A new week already and almost the end of the month so that will mean lots of new challenges for us all to join in. It has been a great theme with lots of amazing entries and terrific stories to go with the art projects. This will be my last page for this month and it tells the tale of a very crowded and cluttered craft room. The poor owner is always collecting things that could be made into something else in the future. The trouble is that time runs out too quickly and everyday brings more things of interest that could be recycled. I am sure you aren't such a crafter so it won't be your room--I wonder whose it is? At Every Inchie Monday the animal this week is donkey I found this difficult though we still have donkeys on our beach in summer and I should know what they look like. Hope your day goes we

Happy Weekend All from a dark and wet NE UK coast. Thank you for calling in and brightening my day. Go Tag Thursday has Ephemera as the theme for this week. As I am never quite sure what that means from a crafty point of view I went digital and stuck with things I know don't last long. At That's Crafty Challenges this time the theme is Round and Round I made a canvas. The first thing was to spread Aztec Metallics Craft Paint all over the canvas. Using an old plastic shop card you can create wonderful textures using the paints this way. Next I just used odd round things to stamp out circles here and there in the wet paint. When it was almost dry there was a wet part on the left so I sprinkled some matching glitter over it.  The middle I made in Paint Shop Pro and printed it out on photographic paper. It is a fairground big wheel with a globe in the middle and I added the words that seem to fit and they are a from a song that I love from an old film. Finally I added a mix of ro

Hello Everyone who calls in and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts.  I seem to be doing quite a bit of work on my computer with my digital. I am working on my usual crafts as well but they are projects for the future so I can't show them yet. At  Art Journal Journey  the challenge for January is chosen and hosted by  Erika . Here I am with a photograph that Vic took a few years ago and I have added a digital border effects.  We went on a day trip to Buxton and it was all a bit of a hurried decision as someone gave us the tickets to go as they couldn't. We got to Buxton and it was the Well Dressing which was wonderful but we still had a couple of hours to spare and so locals in a cafe told about the cavern so went to explore. It was just amazing. A guide took a group of us down and what we saw just have to been to be believed. We have been down a lot of the caves and caverns in the UK but this one was the best for me. Moo Mania a

Hi All. It has been a sunny and bright day after the frosty start and it was good to see the brightness back again after the dark days of late Happy T Day to all the lovely people that join  Elizabeth  for her Tuesday get together where we share drinks posts. I took this when I was having my first morning cup of tea. I do have a coffee in bed to waken me up. I have had this computer for a few years and didn't even know if it had a camera but I was determined to find out so that I could take a pic for this post. Cheers everyone! Hello Everyone. Thank you to all of you who visit and make it a happy and special place for me. Time for our second Challenge this year at Try it on Tuesday  and the theme this  time is Anything but Square. Lots of inspiration from the wonderful team if you go to TIOT to have a look. Check our rules as well while you are there and then you could be one of our TOP 5 chosen by the team. If you are chosen you could be invited as a guest designer for a future challenge. That is how I got onto the team and I am so happy and proud to be a part of it. I made hat pincushions which are definitely not square. You can find instructions on how to make one here  and mine are based on that tutorial with my own twists as always. For the small one I used the lid from a can of spray paint and the top from a tin of coffee. The larger one was the bottom half of a big yoghurt pot, that I strengthen with card, and a piece of strong card for the bottom. The material is all the bits left over from a quilt t

Hi Again All. A second post for me today and it is T is for Tuesday at Elizabeth's blog where we are invited to join the Tuesday gang with a drinks related post.  I am never too sure what time the tea gathering starts as we are in different time zones so I thought it best to post now then it won't get mixed up with tomorrow's offerings. It is one of many that we have bought on the Carlisle to Settle railway--- we get on in Leeds way south of Settle to go up to visit  daughter Linda. The buffet trolley service is run by volunteers and the sandwiches and other good are made by them. Someone else gets on with the buffet as well and that person knows everything about this famous railway and you can ask questions or buy a beautiful book about the line. Hi All and Happy New Week. Hope you have stayed safe during the bad weather. Our snow never arrived apart from a sprinkling that froze over and then disappeared. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts and for any comments that you leave for me. At Every Inchie Monday the animal this week is Cat. Poor thing looks better when it is only an inch. I did try to make it look fluffy. Still not decided how to present them this time my brain needs some sun. Nothing much else to show but I have started work on a new 'us' album as I made the last one in 2012 and we have done lots since then. Still in the same house though so that is something for us. These are the pages of the that album and they are packed full of pockets with miniature replicas of photographs that we have taken at the time and also other special things I wanted to save. Hi All from a very cold NE UK Coast. Hope you weren't flooded yesterday as our coast had horrendous tides. Snow is forecast so I will be staying in and knitting with some sport watching as usual. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts where today I seem to be on a Love Theme though it was quite by accident that happened.  At  Art Journal Journey  the challenge for January is chosen and hosted by  Erika . The theme is Every Journal Page tells a story. I made this page digitally and it shows my husband and a dream scene that tells a real love story of when we first started going out together. We were in his car one cold and frosty morning and he said he wanted me to listen to a tape he had just bought. Yes we still used tapes in cars in those days! I listened and it was so beautiful I cried with happiness. The words on my collage are part of the song and if you want to listen to it all it is here   on youtube. It still send tingles down my spine when I listen to it. This page tells the story of a nightmare where the main character dreams she is naked--we all have those dreams I'm sure but this dream proves to be real ! Hi All. It has been nice to have a blog break with my daughter but I did miss seeing all your wonderful makes so I will be back to calling around blogs again tomorrow. It tells the tale of a beautiful fashion model and the way that she really feels as she starves herself to get into the skinny clothes and stupid style high heeled shoes.
