Journal page and postcard
Hello Everyone who calls in and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts. I seem to be doing quite a bit of work on my computer with my digital. I am working on my usual crafts as well but they are projects for the future so I can't show them yet.
At Art Journal Journey the challenge for January is chosen and hosted by Erika. The theme is Every Journal Page tells a story.
Here I am with a photograph that Vic took a few years ago and I have added a digital border effects.
We went on a day trip to Buxton and it was all a bit of a hurried decision as someone gave us the tickets to go as they couldn't. We got to Buxton and it was the Well Dressing which was wonderful but we still had a couple of hours to spare and so locals in a cafe told about the cavern so went to explore. It was just amazing. A guide took a group of us down and what we saw just have to been to be believed. We have been down a lot of the caves and caverns in the UK but this one was the best for me.
Moo Mania and More have started a new challenge and the theme is Carnival or Mardi Gras
This is a face I did a long time ago and I added lots of flowers, By adding a mask and a Carnival background it makes a good postcard
Have a good day
Love Chrissie xx
Wow. That is really cool Chrissie. It looks like there's a pool of water at the bottom. That's cool. Caves are cool to explore for sure. Glad you joined in at AJJ again. There's so many interesting stories this month. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteFantastic journal page, what a wonderful cavern you visited, spooky! Love the carnival piece, too, although am not a carnival friend, they all go mad here for the parades. Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLovely works.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photo, amazing reflection. Love your journal page. Awesome as always my friend.xx{aNNie}
ReplyDeleteThat looks an amazing cavern Chrissie. I love how it seems so atmospheric as well on your great journal page.
ReplyDeleteIts a beautiful carnival card as well, she is a beauty with or without her mask.
Yvonne xx
Wow, Chrissie, your journal page is amazing and your artwork for MOO MANIA & MORE is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at MMM
Fantastic journal page, mother nature does give us beautiful things to see....if we take the time to look.
ReplyDeleteYour carnival page made me smile, love all the colors.
I've been spelunking with friends, one of whom owned land with a cave on it. One of the universities mapped it for about 1/2 mile but never got all the way through it. This one in the photo would probably put the one I explored to shame, although we walked (waded or crawled) through water, sometimes the cave opened into huge rooms like the one you shared, but not as pretty as yours.
ReplyDeleteThat Mardi Gras entry is fabulous. And the colors are so wonderful and spot on, too.

ReplyDeleteFantastic page for AJJ, the photo is amazing too.
ReplyDeleteYour MM&M lady is gorgeous - love the colours.
Such a happy cheerful piece - most appreciated on a cold grey day that has only just got above zero here.

Lovely art work, your Buxton page is great and how amazing to have been in the cavern :-). Of course your lady caught my eye, with her lovely vibrant colours and mask - beautiful! Happy Friday! J :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the cave photo, very beautiful, the coloured face and carnival; background is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThere is a HUGE cave near Swansea, if you are down that way, they are called Dan y Ogof Caves.
A wonderful journal page and a gorgeous lady with mask Chrissie!

She is so delightful!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cave-photo! Beautiful lady adapted for carnival - I like that colorful artwork!
ReplyDeleteI am loving these two works Chrissie, they are so opposite! The cavern piece is sort of dark and mysterious, while your carnival piece is bright and fun! What an amazing thing to see such contrast in art side by side like this! Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteFantastic page with the cave's photo! I find caves fascinating too, albeit cold and a bit frightening! Great makeover for the lady too, she is now ready for the Carnival... xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous page! I love going into caverns - guided of course! Your carnival lady looks fabulous! Hugs, Chrisx
