Hi All and Happy Halloween. Not something I celebrate but local children seem to enjoy dressing up and knocking on doors so I do join in :( Thank you for calling in today and I have a mixed bag to show you. Last day at Art Journal Journey for the Indian Summer/ Autumn theme that Valerie chose for October. As Halloween is at this time of year I have made a Halloween page for today. It has been a great challenge with wonderful colours and great ideas. Now to Always Use Rubber where you have to use a rubber stamp and ink. Not something I do often these days but it is good to delve into my stamps and try to come up something suitable The theme this time is Winter/Spring For this tag I used 2 stamps and I don't know the makers of either of them. The skaters were in a bundle of stamps from Astrid and the row of trees I have had for years If you know the makers please tell me and I will add credits to them on this posts. Last but not least Every Inchie Monday where the theme this week

Hello Everyone. Thanks for calling in today at Jumbled Crafts. I am late posting  as I have been sorting out a bit of my craft room. The room gets smaller every time I come into it--I expect you all have the same problem. I call it shrinking walls syndrome :( At Art Journal Journey there are still a few more days to join in with Valerie's Indian Summer theme. It has been very popular with lots of wonderful ideas. If you pop here you can see all the wonderful pages all in one place  I had this on a postcard and used it to make a card but first I scanned it for this page. It is a bit lost with all the surrounding colours of Autumn that I added. At Go Tag Thursday the new challenge today is 'Our Favourite Theme'. Well I love anything that is a bit different. I have always loved these sort of characters and have a folder full of them Great that they are already coloured to use digitally or to print out. Hope your day is going well. I will back to tidying out again later. I

Halloween and Autumn Cards

Hi All. Hope your week has started out well and that it gets even better for you. Thank you for your visit today. Fussy and Fancy have the theme Autumn/Fall this time I made this card for Vic's Aunt as her birthday is coming up soon. I used a scan of some real leaves that I did a couple of weeks ago and I printed it out then mounted it on orange card then on a piece of brown, patterned card. The leaves were JOY dies. The next card is for A Very Vintage Halloween at Frilly and Funkie I started out with a piece of black card that I I ran through a Cuttlebug folder to add texture. Next I found a piece of pumpkin material that my daughter had given to me so I used some of that as a layer. A piece of wide ribbon and some painted lace next. Then the layered up pictured and embellishment last of all. The picture was from a catalogue of Halloween costumes online. I would like to enter this at Make My Monday  for the' I put a spell on you' challenge and also at City Crafters   Hal

Hand Made at Try it on Tuesday

Hi All and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Always great that you cal;l in and thank you for your visit. Today is the start of another challenge at Try it on Tuesday  and we are looking forward to seeing what you will make for it. The theme is Hand Made by You so no bought embellishments just your own ideas. There are some wonderful makes by the rest of the team if you need inspiration and while you are visiting the TIOT blog please have a look at the Rules and Guidelines so that you can follow them and be sure to be in the vote for our top 5. This is my make. A used tin covered in bits of material with flowers made very simply with the Suffolk Puff technique and the leaves folded ribbon  I painted the tin inside and out as the material was quite thin and the writing on the tim would have shown through without the paint underneath  Measure around the tin and cut strips of material to fit around it. I wanted the height to be enough to fit in a bottle of wine so I made the strips when joined

Hello Everyone who calls in and thank you for your welcome visit. At Art Journal Journey you have until the end of October to join in with the Indian Summer/ Golden October/ Autumn theme chosen and hosted by Valerie. I decided to use one of my scanogams that I did last week and add things to it. The background was a box I used to cover the leaves on the scanner Then I did another digital piece as well-not sure Emile Bronte would have approved. At Moo Mania and More the theme this time is Halloween Party The scary witch is on a wall in our park-they have a Harry Potter theme. At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is Pirates A traditional pirate image for me though I'm sure others will think of great and original ideas for the theme Have good day Love Chrissie xx

Hi All. Hope your week is going well and thank you for your visit today. I seem to have been busy this week with hardly any time to craft at all. At Art Journal Journey  the talented  Valerie is the host for the wonderful Indian Summer/ Golden October/ Autumn theme. Our leaves are only just starting to turn but I can't resist collecting a few to stick onto pages for the theme This page has lots of Autumn colour, gold spray and glitter but even my light box didn't show it as it looks in real life Go Tag Thursday starts a new challenge today with the theme of Vintage Men. I used a photograph of my grandfather that was taken about 1915 when he was a young man. I can always remember him dressed like this as he was the lead violinist in a theatre orchestra in a big City. He looked after me during the day when I was little and I used to watch him practice on the violin and the piano. They had a grand piano and could sit under it and feel the floor move when he pressed the pedals. T

Hi All and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Always great to have you call in and thank you for being so supportive. It feels more like winter at the moment as it has turned cold and grey now. Even our leaves are turning colour at last so I went to collect a few more yesterday At Go Tag Thursday the theme is Autumn                                       I made a tag with a painted background then scanned of some of the leaves I collected.  Printed it out and collaged that them added a face from a Luna Girls page called Autumn Girls. Then I added die cut leaves The leaf arrangement need to be upside down to scan it I covered mine with various piece of material so they had different backgrounds to use in other projects Frilly and Funkie  have Author Author as the challenge this time I made a canvas with a stenciled background. This was painted and distressed with inks. Then I made a Da Vinci design paper and altered the Mona Lisa to monochrome. To this I added a few bits as a clue to the book. I

Hello Everyone who calls in at Jumbled Crafts and so nice of you to visit--thank you. At Art Journal Journey the theme chosen by Valerie is Indian Summer/Golden October/ Autumn. She is such an inspiration coming up with new ideas to inspire us everyday for the challenge. I made a digital background and used a face I altered and painted over years ago she is thinking about the falling leaves and their beautiful colours. What used to be Twofers has come alive again and is now called Always Use Rubber.  For their challenges you must use a rubber stamp and ink. The theme this time there is 'Not Everything is Black and White' This is a large stamp and I have never used it before--it was in the bottom of a box of forgotten stamps. It is called Dolly Mama's by Joey Inc. and also has Stamps Happen Inc on the wooden part. A good solid stamp for sure. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Hello Everyone. Nice of you to call in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit. It is time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday  where the theme this time is Scary and Spooky. You can make anything you like so long as it follows our guidelines so do read those by clicking on the link under the banner. Pop along to TIOT to see the wonders that the team have made to inspire you. SPIDER WARNING -eyes closed now if you really don't like spiders. I don't like spiders at all but these are only plastic. I filled plastic gloves with treats. The spiders I sent for on ebay  and I thought they would be very small and I could make them into rings for the fingers. I changed the faces to make some scary labels--the male one is the only photo I have of my great grand father and he looks pretty scary even before I altered him. original photo. Will also enter this at Dragons Lair Designs where the theme is Boo    Country View Craft  with All things Spooky Altered Eclectics where t

Journal page and Card

Hello Everyone from a sunny and bright NE UK coast. Cold but beautiful is how I would describe the day. I know parts of the world aren't so lucky with their weather at this time so I hope you all stay safe. At Art Journal Journey the theme is Indian Summer or Autumn and was chosen by Valerie. This started out as piece for Moo Mania and More  where the theme is Drips and Splatters but became suitable for both of the challenges. I painted the background with lots of drips and splatters though the drips seemed to all run into one and made an awful mess. When it was dry I added some of the treasure I found the other day and then I actually drew a little bird. I have wanted to do that for a very long time. At Fussy and Fancy they have a Bingo board with lots of interesting rows to choose from I chose Flowers, Buttons and Dies I used the bits of card I had cut-out instead of the die cuts.. There is a story to tell about the die and it also ties in with Fussy and Fancy I won a £10 in on

Hi All and Happy Weekend. Hope you will enjoy whatever you are doing. I will watching sport on television as usual. Thank you for dropping by.  We collected some of Nature's wonders on our walk on Wednesday and have used some of them to make a journal page for Art Journal Journey where Valerie is hosting the theme for this month. It is Indian Summer/ Autumn. The page is a 9x6 inches Still lots of treasure to use. I am also entering this at Stamps and Stencils for their Elements of Nature Challenge Also I would like to enter this at Anything but Cute where the theme there is An Autumn Day The background was painted with Distressed inks and then I stamped it with some large 'Tim Holtz Collection' stamps that I bought recently. They are from Stampers Anonymous,  called Cracks and Specks. I was a little disappointed in the way they stamped but it was the first time I had used them so maybe they need using more often for best effect. Then I used a Spider's Web Dreamweave

Hi All. A bit later in the day for me than usual but I have been busy in the garden. It is cold and windy but the sun tempts me outside. Thank you for calling in. A reminder that there is still time before the challenge closes on Monday evening at Try at it Tuesday so hope you join us with the Sun, Moon and Stars theme. At Digitally Sweet this month the theme is to Use pink--a little or a lot. This is because it is October and time to think about support for breast cancer. I used Fight for the Cure digital papers by Farrah Smith that I have had for few years but I can't find them online now. I made the frame in Paint Shop Pro. Go Tag Thursday want Oriental this week The stamp in the middle is called Lovely Aleya and is by  Bunch of Fun. I have had that for many years so not sure if it is still available Yesterday we went for a walk in the woods at Danes Dyke and collected lots of natures wonders. Autumn hasn't really arrived there yet and most of the trees were very green. I

Hi All, hope you are well and happy today. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts At Art Journal Journey , Valerie is hosting an Indian Summer/Autumn theme. with lots of inspiration on her blog and at AJJ. I did a digital piece for today. The background was painted and photographed to use for other things and I will use the painted version for a project as well. Yesterday evening we went for a walk along the edge of the sea and sun was very low in the sky casting long leg shadows. Valerie often shows these in her beautiful photographs so Vic took one of us on his phone Our garden is full of cobwebs this morning as there is a heavy dew. They look so beautiful against the fence. We are off now to walk along the beach into town and catch a bus to Dane's Dyke where we can do a wooded walk and forage for unusual Autumn things. I will watching leaves turn colour for sure as there are some seats carved into the fallen tree trunks. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx
