Hand Made at Try it on Tuesday
Hi All and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Always great that you cal;l in and thank you for your visit.
Today is the start of another challenge at Try it on Tuesday and we are looking forward to seeing what you will make for it. The theme is Hand Made by You so no bought embellishments just your own ideas. There are some wonderful makes by the rest of the team if you need inspiration and while you are visiting the TIOT blog please have a look at the Rules and Guidelines so that you can follow them and be sure to be in the vote for our top 5.
This is my make. A used tin covered in bits of material with flowers made very simply with the Suffolk Puff technique and the leaves folded ribbon
I painted the tin inside and out as the material was quite thin and the writing on the tim would have shown through without the paint underneath
Measure around the tin and cut strips of material to fit around it. I wanted the height to be enough to fit in a bottle of wine so I made the strips when joined that size. Turn the top over so that you can thread through some ribbon or cord. Slip this 'sleeve' onto the tin and decorate as you like. If you don't want it so high just tuck some of it into the tin as I have on my top photograph.
Bottle in tin. It did need tissue paper around the bottle to stop it rattling.
Hope to see your wonderful ideas soon
Love Chrissie xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful handmade piece. I adore the various fabrics, and the handmade embellishments and flowers you used to decorate this tin. Clever idea to paint the inside and out for the recipient. To me, the tin is the gift, as much as the wine!
