Add a Quote

Image
Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts where today you can see what I made as my DT project for Try it on Tuesday.  I hope you will join in and I am sure everyone will have lots of ideas this time for the Add a Quote challenge. You can make anything you like so long as it has a quote. The challenge last for 2 weeks and there are lots of great ideas from the rest of the amazing team at TIOT I made a shoe and filled it with chocolate coins-I thought it would make a nice raffle prize for the Care Home.  I printed a design onto card and found a template online at http://www.skiptomylou.org/how-to-make-custom-party-favor-shoes//  I did try several template but they didn't seem to fit together properly-this one also had a lining with it and was easy to make and to print out as the lining covered the instructions when it was printed out and made up The Care Home don't encourage chocolate prizes so Vic ate all the chocolate coins and I added little Easter Eggs.     Can't wait

Hi All. Hope you are enjoying Easter. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts where there isn't much for you to see today as we have been doing lots of fun things with my daughter and Son-in-law. The weather is awful today so we won't be going far for sure At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is peanuts I did peanut butter as I just love the taste of it on toast Thought I would add a few photographs as I haven't made anything else this week. Hope you have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Hi All. Nice to have you join me at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for visiting. Today my daughter and son-in-law are coming to stay until Tuesday so I expect we will have lots of fun and laughter with crafting to add to the mix as she always brings me lots of goodies and great ideas for knitting. Vic and me are often called 'guys' when they visit e.g,'what would you guys like to do today?' It makes me feel about 18 years old which is great lol. At Art Journal Journey the theme this month is' If You go down in the Woods'. As we go down in the woods often and take lots of photographs I have been using some of those for backgrounds. for this page I started out with a chalked page-I have been chalking lots of pieces of A4 paper to add to a new journal I then messed about with the photograph and removed all the white parts in Animation Shop. Next I printed it out onto the chalked paper and some of the chalk colours showed through.  The little birds I cut from an old

Inchie and Tag

Hello Everyone who calls in and thank you for your visit. Today at Every Inchie Monday the theme is door. Not sure where this fits in with the theme for the year which is Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Vic has now got the whole series for me to watch--help! He loves it :) This is secret door leading to somewhere........? At Fussy and Fancy Challenge blog the theme is Things with Wings. The background for the tag was a Nicrane designs sheet and the big silver butterfly was from a box of six my daughter bought at Akitts? She also bought a box of 3 even bigger butterflies for me-not sure what I can do with all these big butterflies. The daffodil is a charity pin. Have a really nice day Love Chrissie xx

Journal Pages

Hi All nice to have you call in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit. It is hard to believe that the weekend is here already as the week has gone very quickly. Art Journal Journey's 'If you go down to the Woods' has lots of terrific entries and so much variety. I used one of my own photographs for both of these pages but tried different effects on each. The rabbits arranged an Easter egg hunt. Whoever found the most eggs could have the big egg in the tall tree-wonder how that got there? Mr Fox turned up and stockpiled a lot of the eggs so has his eye on the big prize. This is deep in the woods away from prying eyes and is where Rudolph spends his time waiting for his big day in December Enough of the frivolity and now for something even more frivolous :) Here is Vic modelling my latest knit for Cat Protection. Have a beautiful weekend Love Chrissie xx

Hello All. Hope your week is going well. I am enjoying a quiet week as the Care Home is still closed to visitors. I have been knitting lots more Twiddle Muffs as word is spreading that I am making them and people are asking if they can order one. I am not charging for them but may have to start asking for a small donation as the things I add to them have all run out now so I will need to buy some more. Art Journal Journey have 'If You Go Down in the Woods' and it is going well indeed This is a revamped version of a digital page I created way back in 2005. At the time I had a passion for painting my own fairies-afraid this one looks as though she is wearing baggy knickers under her tights :) It is so funny to find old folders with things I made a long time ago but I will enjoy changing them a bit I'm sure.  I am joining in at Dragon's Lair Challenge Blog where they have a grid for you to choose a line I chose Pink, Box and Bow as my line I covered a box for Easter as

Nature

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. After a couple of nice days we are back to heavy drizzle and cloud cover so crafting day for me I think. I am sure many of you are dropping by to find out what the new challenge is at Try it on Tuesday . You will be delighted to know that it is is Nature. I can't wait to see what you make for the theme which has so much for you to think about. If you are stuck for ideas do pop here and see what my team mates have made and I am sure you will be inspired. I hope you will join us in the next two weeks with anything you like so long as it follows the theme. You could be chosen as one of our top 5 and have the chance to be a guest designer for a future challenge. I made a wreath and really enjoyed making it. Great that I found a sunny day to take a picure outside for a change. It started out as an old envelope with stiff card on the back of it I drew round two plates then cut out the wreath shape. Next I tied a piece of string at the top t

Hello Everyone who drops by and thank you for calling in today. Care Home still closed to visitors so MIL will be really fed I bet though she seems to have escaped the virus by all accounts from the staff. Monday is inchie day and at Every Inchie Monday  this week the theme is Island It would be nice to be on a sunny island under the palm trees I think. If you go down to the woods-- it may mean you are joining in the terrific challenge with that theme at Art Journal Journey . It is such a great theme chosen by Chris with everyone having their own ideas, some funny and some very artistic.  I set off being artistic with a messy finger painting of a dense wood. I used a booklet to paint over it had lovely paper and came through the door to advertise our local college courses. I am sure it will make a good journal. The artistic bit didn't last for long as I gathered all these bears together and printed them out to stick on the page. It took longer to cut them out than to paint the back

Industrial

Hi All and Happy Weekend to you. Thank you for dropping in and hope you like what you see here today. I am looking forward to watching the rugby matches this weekend and hope that you have something nice planned. At Country View Crafts the theme for March is Industrial I used a mop up page for the background and added grey to make it fit the project. I used aluminium tape stuck on pieces of card and ran them through the Cuttlebug with various folders. They were then stuck together to make a shape. Next some bits and bobs were added and I sprayed the middle' construction' with Silver paint. Last thing was to smudge it with black Distressed ink. This is the quote I added. Thought I would show you a few photographs taken in Sewerby Park a couple of days ago. We had really gone to visit MIL in the Care Home but no one could go in or out as it was closed due to the Norovirus. A bit sad, we decided to keep walking along the cliff top and go to see our favourite trees in Sewerby Park.

What a Pantomime

Hello Everyone from a sunny NE UK coast. First time it has been really sunny for a while and the forecast says sun until the weekend-yipee. Thank you for calling in and making a sunny day even brighter :) At Art Journal Journey  we are all still happily 'going down to the woods' chosen by Chris for the theme this month. So many wonderful ideas from people and lots of them full of fun so why not click here  to see all the entries in their full splendour all in one place So today I decided to go down the pantomime route with my page and I wrote a simple poem to describe what was happening in the scene. You need to read it as though you were a child at a panto. I used one of our photographs as a background and added things I had drawn years ago as well some I had kept from way back when. Deep in the wood they gathered together Hidden away from the awful weather. The Fairy Queen was 200 today  And for many years she had hidden away. The Wicked Witch had frightened her so More than

Digital and other challenges

Hi All from a very wet NE UK coast. Hope your day is going well and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. I made a fully digital card front for Digitally Sweet where the theme this time is Spring is in the Air I made the gold background in Paint Shop Pro then made some PSP brushes and used lots of layers to add them in various colours and depths of colour. The quote I found on Google. So I thought why not use this project to make another one. At Stamps and Stencil they too have Spring is in the Air but you have to use stamps or stencils  Also at Moo Mania and More they have a new challenge that asks to use some Newspaper on your project I really enjoyed making this. I painted a magazine page white then stuck on some pieces of newspaper, then some more white to soften the edges of the paper. I  struck on my digital picture and added stencils and stamps then some of the foam flowers I found in my bits and bobs drawer and never thought I would ever use. The measuring tape stencil

Hi All and happy new week to you. Thank you for calling in today and for the lovely comments you leave here for me. Art Journal Journey have the theme If You Go Down in the Woods. (Just had to change to the Journey word as I always seem to type Journal Journal) I wonder if anyone else does that? As Vic and me always seem to seek out woodland walks I have made us into the Green Man and the Green Woman I changed this photograph to black and white then colour, spray painted it in Paint Shop Pro Every Inchie Monday  has Spaceship as the theme this week A bit simple but I based it on one my son made from a kit in 1970s Have a great week everyone Love Chrissie xx

Journal Page and digital card

Hello Everyone and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts. Not sure where this week has gone but it seems to be hurrying by at a great rate of  knots. We are clearing the bathroom ready for some work doing on Friday and I hadn't realised how much we keep in this small space. Art Journal Journey has 'If you go Down in the Woods' for the whole of January. Chris chose this great new theme which opens our ideas to fun and beauty. She will be hosting this all of the month and has done wonderful pages already. I used one of my own photographs that was taken on my phone so not a very good one really but it made a good background when played about with in Paint Shop Pro At  Digitally Sweet the theme for this month is 'Spring is in the Air' This is what Spring meant to me after jumping on the scales this morning. The image was from a Stock Blog years ago. I just checked and it is still there but now you only have one free download then have to pay to join. The paper was a

Feminine and Fancy at TIOT

Hi All. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts today and I am sure you are excited to know it is time a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday. Always wonderful support for the challenge and if you need inspiration then just pop to TIOT  and see what the rest of the team have made. Everyone knows I love to alter and to recycle and this project is based on my birthday card from my daughter. Linda always gets me a Debbi Moore card and a Debbi Moore calendar every year as she knows I love the images. Feminine and Fancy isn't my usual style or card making but I did feel I wanted to use parts of the card to make another one for a friend who loves this sort of thing. First of all I took the card apart and will be using all of it on projects in the future I'm sure. The picture I used was on the inside of the original card. The paper I used is by K and Company The flower I made from bits of other old flowers Hope you have a wonderful day Love Chrissie xx
