Hi Everyone and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts. Welcome to Eileen my latest follower and she takes the number up to 149. Thank you to all of my followers, many have been with me since I started out my blog journey at the beginning of 2011 and it has been wonderful to get to know people along the way. At Tag Tuesday our theme this time is Birds and nest and  you still have until late on Monday to join us with your take on the theme. Not a tag from me today but a tale of this sweet little bird. We were sitting in our little conservatory reading and all was quiet when there was loud bang and the little bird fell onto the lawn after hitting the glass. It was there for ages but we waited and saw it open one eye then it stood for a while before flying up onto the fence. Next thing we knew it was off on its travels once again. Moo Mania and More have triplicate as their theme this time. I made a triptych with a painted background done in thick acrylic paint. The pictures I cut from a

Botanical Challenge at TIOT

Hi All. Here we are almost at the end of March and it is still cold here and today we have mist as well unfortunately. I keep reading about the high temperatures elsewhere in the UK and hoping it reaches us soon. Thank you for your visits and comments always a pleasure to welcome you here. Time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday  where you are always pleased if you join us with your makes all you have to do is follow the theme and our few simple rules. Why not pop along and see what the team have made and look at the rules while you are there. Our whole team choose the top five from each challenge and if you are one of them you may be asked to be a guest designer for a future challenge. The theme this time is Botanical so think flowers, trees, leaves etc. Here is my project and it was lovely to make it as it has lots of things that I have kept for ages. They are from things that people sent to me or made for me. You may well see something from you if you look at the pictures of t

T is for Lunch, Tag and Inchie

Hi All. A bit late in the day for me today but I have been busy doing this and that. Hope your day has gone well and thank you for your visit. Welcome to any new followers-the number has sneaked up to 148 and I hadn't noticed until now.  Happy T Day to anyone who pops in from Elizabeth's . On Thursday we had Vic's mum and her friend Bill here for the day and we seemed to be eating and drinking for the whole 8 hours they were with us. Vic's mum is 88 and Bill is 83 so eating and drinking lots has to be the answer to a long life I reckon. We had curry for lunch and washed it down with water. Our tap water tastes awful as it is hard water area. If we are going to drink a lot of it we buy bottled water. Vic had made a delicious curry and we had wild rice and potatoes with it. Then came apple pie and custard followed by a box of expensive chocolates that Bill had brought for us all to share. At Tag Tuesday there is still a week to join us for the Birds and Nest theme chosen

Hello Everyone. Hope it is sunny where you are. We have had a few beautiful sunny days though it is cold with a strong breeze. Thank you for joining my at Jumbled Crafts. I have made a page for the Gecko Galz challenge Fairy Garden as I saw it on Michele's blog. I have never joined in there before though I have some Gecko Galz images I painted the background in acrylics and scanned it then added the bird images from - The fairy is a collage I mixed of images from a long time ago and they were from Outlawbydesign. Art Journal Journal has the theme Out and About chosen by Yvonne for this month's challenge. There have been wonderful entries and Yvonne has come up with so many ideas for her pages I wonder at her imagination and creativity. I am going to finish with a page that is on the same theme as another one I made for this challenge. I painted the background in my journal then added old photographs of me and Vic climbing mountains and reaching the summit. We have reached a

Hi All. I hope you week is going well. My week has been a busy one so far and the time is just flying by as usual. Thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts and for the lovely comments you leave. Hope you will remember to join us at Try it on Tuesday where there are still a few days left for our Lady in Red Challenge and if you need a bit longer there is still plenty of time to make a tag for our birds/nests theme at Tag Tuesday. All types of projects are welcome at both blogs At Go Tag Thursday the theme this week is Nautical. Always a pleasure to join in there so I hope you will find time to make a tag. I went down the digi route for this tag but will try to make another one by hand as well. Moo Mania and More have a new theme and it is 'triplicate' Not sure if this qualifies but it is three frames filled with a painting I did many years ago when I was learning about still life. May be I will make something a bit different as well. Have a good day all Love Chrissie xx

Tag Tuesday and reminder for TIOT

Hi All who drop in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit. Always great to see what people think of my makes and for me to get to know you a little better along the way. At Tag Tuesday this week we have Wendy choosing the new theme. She has chosen Birds/ Nests and that is quite the thing for this time of year in the UK. Birds are gathering bits of twig and moss near us and the crows have already made huge nests in the high trees on the main road For my background I used one of Astrid's stunning freebie tags -a big thank you Astrid for your kindness. One side is embossed and then I added two birds that I cut out from a picture. Hope you will join us during the next two weeks with your take on the theme. Thank you to all who joined in with the last challenge and your amazing tags A reminder that you still have another week to join us at Try it on Tuesday for the Lady in Red challenge. Also today the Top 5 for the Time for Tea Challenge will be posted so I hope you are among

T is for Treats

Image
Hi All. Second post for me today as this one is for T day at Elizabeth's where we all gather on Tuesday to say hello with a drinks related post.  Happy T Day to all who drop by from Elizabeth's T Party and to anyone else who calls in. This week we have been out for more snacks and meals than we have done for years. One excuse is that the sun shone for a couple of days and another is that it was our 27th wedding anniversary so it was all worth celebrating with treats. Here we are getting married in Jamaica Here we are with our best man and bridesmaid who stood in at the last minute  We went for a Chinese meal on out anniversary and the drink was Lime and Lemonade Eating and drinking again overlooking the sea at Jeromes. It was freezing cold outside so good to be undercover though we usually sit outside when we go to Jeromes for coffee. Love Chrissie xx

Journal Page and Inchie

Happy New Week All and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts along the way. At Art Journal Journey we have dear Yvonne taking us Out and About this month. Our garden is full of fairies though they don't come out too often and you need to be very quiet when they do or they fly away. I painted the background with acrylics then drew around the shapes with white pen. The fairies I drew digitally about 15 years ago when I bought a 'How to draw fairies' book. Not sure I ever got them right but they were useful to use for PSP tutorials when it was tabu to use anything copyright at all without permission. Every Inchie Monday has Woodpecker as the theme this week It does look a bit like my heron did last week expect for the angle and a bit of brown. Enjoy your day.  Love Chrissie xx

Card and photographs

Hello Everybody who calls in and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts. Looks like a dull grey weekend but with 3 rugby matches today I am sure I won't even notice the weather. You still have time to join us at Tag Tuesday and Try it on Tuesday so hope you will pop over and see what the themes are. At Frilly and Funkie the theme this is 'you've-got-to-know-when-to-fold-em'. I did a side fold card. I made the image from a few flower pictures and printed them out in different sizes. I also attached a little card as I never know where to write the greetings on this sort of card. Here are a few photographs of Driffield station that has made a real show of Spring flowers The birds nest in the rafters above the platform and someone has to clean up their droppings. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Journal page and tag

Hi All from a very sunny NE UK Coast. This is the second day it has been sunny and I am getting used to it after all the dark and dreary days of late. Thank you for joining me here at Jumbled Crafts. At Art Journal Journey this month Yvonne has chosen Out and About as her theme and it all going so well with wonderful ideas from the people who have entered. I adapted one of my photographs for this page in my digital journal. It is from a photograph I took by the canal in Driffield last year I would like to enter this at More Mixed Media as well where anything goes but this time they have an optional green twist as well. Go Tag Thursday have quote or verse for their theme this week This is quite a large tag as I wanted to use an owl from a colouring book. I have lots of them and this book is called MINDFUL OWLS by J. Benson. I  just use cheap felt tips in the colouring books as the paper is really good quality. An interesting quote question I think. I would be 38 about half my real

Hi All. Hope you week has started well and thank you for your visits to Jumbled Crafts. Still a week to join us at Tag Tuesday for the Head and Headgear Challenge chosen by Michele  and she has arranged a prize as well. I have made a digital tag for the challenge. I think the image was Gecko Galz but not certain about that. If you know whose it is please let me know so I can add a credit to this post Today we start a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday  and we would love you to join us with anything you make that follows the theme of the challenge.  The theme this time is Lady in Red so I am sure you will have lots of ideas already. If you haven't then pop along to TIOT where the team have made some projects to inspire you.  I will also be joining in with this at  The Allsorts Challenge Blog  where the theme this week is Ladies and Girls I made a card with a matching envelope for a friend's birthday. Journal page, Inchie and T Day is Icecream

Hi All. Happy day to you all and thank you for making Jumbled Crafts a place to visit along life's way. At  Art Journal Journey  the theme was chosen by the lovely  Yvonne  and we are asked to show some Out and About ideas. I seem to spend a lot of time in our small garden so thought I would do a flower page. The flowers were die cut from card and the leaves die cut from green felt of different colours.  White pen was used here and there to brighten up the black page in my album. At Every Inchie Monday this week the animal/bird is heron I find birds difficult as you can see My posts seems to be getting a bit muddled with Tuesday being a busy blog day for me. I now have GT posts every Tuesday and the wonderful T day at  Elizabeth's  where she host a drinks party every Tuesday. I have decided to post my usual Monday stuff and write the the party post on Monday from now on so that I can add it when Elizabeth does her host post. She does it on Monday evening as US hours are differ

Tag, Basket and reminders

Hello Everyone. Hope you enjoy the weekend and thank you for calling in along the way. Rugby watching on television for me this weekend so I have colouring books at the ready while I watch. Two reminders before I start with my projects. Still time to join us at  Try it on Tuesday with our Time for Tea theme. You can make anything you like so long it follows the theme even do artwork on a tea bag as one of my team mates did so beautifully. Next reminder is to join us at Tag Tuesday for the Hats and Headgear theme chosen by Michele and she has arranged for a prize by lunagirl. You still have well over a week to join in our challenge At Altered Eclectics all you have to do is alter something to join in. Mine is a very simple alteration today. A little basket for an 80 year old male friend who loves these biscuit treats It started life as a small plastic box with grapes in it I covered it in several sheets of tissue paper. Cut out the shape of the bottom in card and covered that to fit
