Mixed Bag

Image
Hi All. I hope you are having a good week and that the sun has paid you a visit recently. Thank you for sharing part of your day with me. A reminder that there is still a week left to join in at Try it on Tuesday  where we have the theme 'I Believe I can Fly'.  Hope you show us what your thoughts are on the theme and you could be chosen as one of our top 5 with a chance to be a Guest Designer some time in the future. The top 5 for our last challenge will be published at 9 am today so if you joined in with that pop over to here see if you are one of the top 5. I made a bag charm/key ring from little bits of felt left over from other projects Not sure I believe this will fly very far as it is tethered to my bag but it does try to fly when the wind is blowing.  Charm Front Charm Back-the wise owl reminds me to fasten my bag zips as I am always leaving them open. Enjoy your day Love Chrissie xx

Inchie and photographs

Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and happy new week to you. Thank you for calling in.  Here is an upside down hello from Oscar, one of my daughter's twins This week at Every Inchie Monday the theme is physics. I was always a chemistry technician and sometimes it included a little physics. I never really grasped it but managed to muddle through. I did have one of these when they were popular so stuck with something I knew. Last Monday we went on the train to Sheffield and then got a bus to Bakewell. The journey is very beautiful and even calls into the car park at the wonderful Chatsworth House. It was a dull day but everywhere was very busy. We found a little courtyard tucked away on the main street and there was a shop at the top of these stone steps  Really different things for sale in some of the little courtyard shops and even somewhere for coffee and cake.  Time for a walk along the river and a look around the market before the beautiful journey back home again. A nice way to pass a

Fairy Card

Image
Hi All from a very hot and sunny NE UK Coast. Thank you for calling in. I have been gardening for most of the day but just managed to finish a card for a friend. I made it with Make My Monday in mind as they have fairies as their theme and still have a week left for you to enter. The digital stamp is from here  at Crafter's Companion and is a free download. I coloured it with Sharpies pens. Hope your weekend is going well so far Love Chrissie xx

Map and Card

Image
Thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts where I have a couple of projects to show you today. At Art Journal Journey they still have Maps as their theme until the end of the month so hope to see your makes for there I took a bit of the map of our seafront and added a bit of a photograph by Valerie- she takes wonderful photographs of so many birds as well as many other things of interest. I thought of a bird's eye view and how nice it would be if the birds could know where it is safe and where they can get food.' I know I am mad as a box of frogs but I enjoy myself ' :)) At  City Crafters Challenge Blog  this week they have a photograph to inspire us and also the theme White and Bright The photograph for inspiration I took a small portion of the photograph and made a background then added a tulip image and a fancy edging in Paint Shop Pro. A plain and simple card for my stash. Have a lovely day everyone and don't forget to vote if you are in the UK Love Chrissie xx

Try it on Tuesday is Up in the Air

Hi All. Hope you are all well and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. Time for the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday where this time we are asking you for your craft ideas on the subject, 'I Believe I can Fly'. Think anything with wings or you with wings. If you are stuck for ideas my teamies have made great samples to inspire you. Hope you will pop to TIOT to see them and also to the team's blogs to see how they made them. I made a window picture that makes me feel like flying when I look at it.  The design was made in Paint Shop Pro with a bird image and a flower image. Then it was printed on acetate and left to dry for a few hours. I had an old brown frame that I painted lightly in turquoise so that some of the brown showed through. Then I added the acetate picture and a piece of parchment paper behind it that I stuck to the frame Here it is with the sun behind it  Here it is stuck to the conservatory window with the sun shining through it which gives a ripple

Inchie and Twofers

Hello Everyone and Happy New Week to you all. Always great when you pop in and thank you for your visit. Hope you will join in Alison's Birthday Blog Candy-details here -you can see what is on offer in my side bar. Every Inchie Monday this week has the theme Party-not too much room in an inch for a big party so I just did a blower and a hat. At Twofers this time the theme is Tea, Coffee or Me. You can make anything so long as it has a stamp and ink on it. Well it is a long time since I got very inky so I thought it was about time I did. Inky background-inked images and a Sharpies pen so my hands are well covered now. These are the stamps I used-my daughter gave me the round one so I don't know the make and the alphabet stamps have no name either. The other stamps are Crafty Individuals.  Have a great day everyone Love Chrissie xx

Weekend Again

Image
Hi All and thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts. We have rain and cold wind today so I am pleased to have some sewing to do and lots of sport to watch on television. Hope it is nice where you are and you have lots planned for the weekend. At Moo Mania and More this time Valerie has made a beautiful collage of some of her amazing photographs and we are asked to use this to inspire a piece for the challenge. You don't have to include a Moo at all if you don't want to. I did a digi collage with a mix of  allsorts of things including bits of Valerie's collage, my own photos and Vic's mere cat statue that I bought for his birthday as he loves them. This is Valerie's collage and I am sure it will inspire anyone to join in with the challenge. At Art Journal Journey the theme this time is Maps chosen by Mary Sometimes I just get carried away into a little world of my own or, this time, a fantasy world that no one else has visited yet so I made a map. The hospital s

Happy Weekend with a cute cat photograph

Hi All and a warm welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Always great to have visitors and thank you for your visit. A couple of days ago I got my sewing machine out of its hiding place so now I have no space for my usual crafting. Not much sewing done either so I must try harder. At Art Journal Journey the theme is Maps. This page was inspired by an article I read when I was looking on Google for help on how to cover up the black bags under my eyes! It made me laugh when I saw the headline so I took a selfie and cut it out digitally then added a contour effect. Not at all sure I would go for that look. The beautiful wall in the background was a photograph taken by Valerie  and I added a contour effect to that as well. I am still plodding through my daughter's craft stuff that she brought for me to distribute or use. Most of it I would never use so have given it to various charity craft groups. I usually make a few samples to show them how to use the stuff that is mostly bulk buys from Creat

Journal page and altered book

Image
Hello to everyone visiting Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. Hope your week is going well and the weather is being kind where you are as I know there is a lot of strange weather all over the place. Ours is ok but still not very summery. Another journal page from me today for Art Journal Journey  and their MAP theme This started out as a mop up page and a piece of an old map that was printed on a canvas backing. I stuck it onto the page then covered the whole thing in white paint and blobbed on some alcohol ink that turned into trees. The crazy animals are from an old calendar that I couldn't bear to throw away Now for a changed book that I made with a few challenges in mind. I painted the book white then green then added crackle to the bottom part of it. When it was dry I added a bit more white paint here and there over the crackle as it looked so bare. I made the flowers and the top one is a TH tattered flower die cut with textured paste and Distressed stain. The stamp

For Him at Try it on Tuesday

Image
Hello Everyone and thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts and for the lovely comments and friendship. This time at Try it on Tuesday  we are inviting you to make something 'For Him'. You can make anything you like so long as you follow the theme so just let your imagine start working and show us what you make for our challenge. You have 2 weeks to add your entry and if you are stuck for ideas then please visit TIOT and be inspired by the DT samples. I was inspired by a leaflet for Life Cover that came through the post. It had two gentleman images and a family on it. I cut out one of the images and used it to make this card. As it was in purple it influenced what I used on the rest of card. Not sure what the HIM who I made it for will think of it. I would also like to add this to Dragon's Lair designs  and to Moo Mania and More  where the themes are also for masculine cards Can't wait to see what you all make. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Inchie and Card

Image
Hello Everyone. Hope you enjoyed the weekend and that you will have a great week ahead. Thank you for calling in at my blog to see the makes for today. At Every Inchie Monday today the theme is Ghastly. The words for 2016 are all from The Hitch Hikers Galaxy book which I haven't read but some on the Inchie friends have and at least one will explain how the word fits into the book At Moo Mania and Mor e and at Dragon's Lair Designs the theme this time is Masculine This is for a friend's birthday. I always try to make a card that fits in with one of their interests. Geoff has a caravan which he tows to beautiful places almost every weekend. I made a background picture of some material and used a free digital stamp of a caravan that I played around with to make it show up better. The scene is built up on layers of card with a shiny layer that I ran through a Cuttlebug folder to give it texture. Hope your day goes well It is cloudy here but dry so we are off to Scarborough o

Journal Page and digital card

Hi All. We have sun today and it such a wonderful sight after the grey and gloomy days that have been with us for a while. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled to see what I have made.  You still have today and tomorrow to join us at Try it on Tuesday with a music themed piece--anything you like we'd love to see it. At Digitally Sweet Challenges the theme this time is Green,White and one other colour. I made an all digital card in white green and purple. I used brushes I had made for Paint Shop Pro Here is a background for you to save and use if you would like it. Just right click and save or print it out. At Art Journal Journey the theme for June is Maps and what a great subject to let your mind go places you maybe never imagined you would visit. After saying all that I chose a map of a place I know very well and a route I took quite a few times when I lived in Cumbria. I added the words which could apply to most things you try in life. A few times I climbed to the top of Scafe

Journal Page

Hello Everyone. Hope your week has gone well and the weather has been better than it has here. It is more like winter than late Spring. Thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts and for your friendship and comments. My crafting at the moment is mostly knitting but I did make a page for the new theme at Art Journal Journey  where   Mary C. Nasser   has chosen the theme maps for this month. My days seem to fly by so I thought I would do a mind map of yesterday to try to think where the hours went. Today will be totally different I image and it might be nice to start a new journal and do more of these maps to see where the time is going. My sister in law is coming to stay with her Mum next week so I have knitted her a nice warm cardigan as she always seems to be cold when she comes here, also knitted a waistcoat for my MIL and a baby set for the baby that is expected next door to us. I do love to kn it and watch sport on television and today it should be Andy Murray playing tennis again
