Journal page and Face

Image
Hi All. Hope you are well and enjoying whatever you are doing. Thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts where I haven't had a lot of time recently to add much at all. Art Journal Journey will soon be at the end of their Autumn Colours theme and it has brought out the best in many people I think. Can't wait to see what AJJ come up with on Tuesday when the next theme will start. I made a digital background then took a picture of a card I bought at a craft shop a long time ago. I think  it would be nice to print this out and pin it on a my craft room wall. At Kim Dellow Show Your Face  she has been showing various artists and encouraging us to try their style. I am way behind and I think this is style from a few weeks ago. I used chalks and charcoal to do my version of a Marie Laurencin. Have a lovely day and I hope you stay safe if the forecast for your weather is anything like ours. Love Chrissie xx

Bag and Photographs

Image
Hello everyone who drops by and thank you for your visit at Jumbled Crafts where all are welcome At Moo Mania and more this time you can make anything as always so long as it follows the theme. This is it is to add layers . The very talented Valerie had made a bag with a card on it for her DT piece at TIOT this time, that was a wonderful idea so I thought I would try one. There are 10 layers altogether counting six on my bag and 5 on the card. I made the bag from an A4 sheet of white paper and added some red paper strips and stamping, The ribbon and a charm as well.. The attached white card has a blue  Promarker edge a square of patchwork in flowered material, another small square scrap and a decoupage butterfly. ----------------------- Last week we went to Burton Agnes Hall to see their Christmas Trimmings for this year. The Hall is lived in by the family and has been for generations and every year they make as many of the trimmings themselves as they can. Must be the elves in them.

Boxes and Bags at Try it on Tuesday

Image
Hi All. Nice of you to drop by today thank you.  It's time again for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday  and I am sure this one will be amazing as there are so many things you will be able to think of for the 'Bags and Boxes' theme. You can find inspiration from all the team if you can't think of something, so do pop along to TIOT and see what they have made. I made quite a few as it was quite easy once I got the hang of it. The pearl emblies were the Royal-Schmuck ones that Valerie sent to me, they are so beautiful I started off with an empty Jaffa Cakes box for this bag It was just covered in brown paper.  The flower is one made from the TH Tattered Flower die and the leaves I have had for a while but I think they may be TH as well so do let me know whose they are if you know please. There are many tutorials online for changing boxes into bags and some wonderful ideas. The one that guided me was here  though I did do my own version of it at times. This is anothe

Inchie and new toy

Image
Hi All. Welcome to a new week and a better week weather wise I hope as we seem to have had rain, snow and wind for most of the last week. Thank you for dropping by and for the lovely and encouraging comments you leave. This week at Every Inchie Monday  where the theme is crochet. I had intended to do a small piece of crochet but time got the better of me so I just have  a picture of a flower pattern I have done many times I thought I would show you my new toy which Vic has bought me as part of my birthday present. My birthday isn't until January but he thought I needed this now as I have had difficulty getting good photographs of my projects with the dark and dull days recently. Here it is my collapsible light box. It came in a very small bag with other coloured background to use in the bag as well. As soon as I opened the zip it shot out and was a lot bigger than I expected. I can't imagine that I would ever be able to get it back into the round bag but I am hoping it will be

Hi All. It is a really lovely sunny and bright day here today so we will be off for a walk along the seafront to visit MIL. She lives on the seafront but it often very windy so not as good as it might seem. Thank you for your visit today and I hope you like what I have made. At Art Journal Journey the wonderful Autumn Colours theme is still in place until the end of November and the ideas that people have are just amazing. I have done a digital page which looks a bit scary rather than graceful :) I would also like this to be my face for this week at Kim Dellow's Show Your Face  I have a few more faces that I have drawn but the weather has been too dark to take a decent pic of them yet. The theme at Crafting by Designs is Times 3 Here I am with a Christmas card and hoping I can catch-up and make a few more as I haven't started them yet. I have bought charity cards on stand by as I can't imagine making enough of my own this year. The flower image is from Beccy's Place

Scrapbook Page

Hello Everyone who calls in and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts Today is the half way point in our Create a Scene Challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the top 5 for the Layers challenge are posted as well so hope you will join in with us in the next week. At Stamps and Stencils the theme this time is Remember, Remember and I am sure that none of us will ever forget the awful happenings in Paris. My thoughts turned to 1947 where life still carried on for us after the awful events just before. Difficult to get a good photograph of this scrapbook page as the weather is dull and dark again today. When I was about 5 years old we used to go every Sunday in summer to watch my dad play cricket for a little known local team. My aunt in the middle is now 90 and found this photograph among some she was sorting out. Looks like our family formed most of the supporters but they were very happy times and I went until I was about 11 years old. We were a very sporting family and I still love watch

Art Book and inchie

Hello Everyone and great to have you join me for the start of a new week. I have taken advantage of a weekend rest from helping MIL and done some crafting which has been so relaxing. Today at Every Inchie Monday we have the theme Exotic to think of. I chose little love birds as my exotic inchie subject. I love to see them and how close they are to each other. I would like this to be a tribute to the people of Paris and to try to spread love to all This is quite a large piece of beaded art that a fellow inchie friend has done as a tribute if you want to learn more about it you can go here At The Mirror Cracked t he theme for November is Water  I have made a cover for an artbook that I have had for about 25 years just waiting to be used. The price says £3.95 which must have been quite a bit of money at the time it was bought I covered the book with some spare pieces of paper I had and added a picture that I painted over 20 years ago when we lived in the Lake District and used to sit in

Thank you card

Hi All A bit behind with crafting stuff at the moment so I decided to take a day to do just crafting and maybe a bit of watching sport on television. Hope your day is going well and thank you for calling in At Make My Monday the theme for the week is Many Thanks and here I am sneaking in with only a few hours to go. I printed out a few images I had for years in old files-the flowers were from a photograph of some of our own flowers. I made several copies of everything and decoupaged them. Love Chrissie xx

Journal Page and Face

Hello Everyone. I am a bit late today as I had my last session with the dentist and we are also still going almost every day to visit MIL at home as she is very frail at the moment and even with lots of carers etc needs extra help that they don't do. Hope your day has gone well and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts on your blog travels. At Art Journal Journey there is still the theme Autumn Colours and wonderful artwork from the entries so far I have another page with real leaves that I collected a couple of days ago. The cold weather and strong winds mean there are hardly any leaves left on the trees but the pathways are ankle deep in wonderful shapes and colours. I brought some home and drieid them out a bit them stuck them to a painted background and wrote my words in white pen. My face for Kim Dellow this week is just one I made up Not sure why I stuck pins in her but I think it may be how I was feeling at the time I drew her in charcoal and chalk. Love Chrissie xx

New Challenge at Try it on Tuesday

Image
Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Thank you for calling in and I am sure you are all waiting for the New Challenge at Try it on Tuesday . The theme this time is to Create a Scene and my team mates have some wonderful ideas so if you need inspiration just  pop along to TIOT then join in with us and your scenes. Yoiu can make anything you like so long as it follows the theme. If you pop back there next week you will see the top five for the Lots of Layers Challenge. I made a page for one of my journals. I started off with an A4 sheet of gloss photo paper and used alcohol inks in blue and green and swirled them about with a piece of kitchen roll to cover the page. Then I added white acrylic here and there for the clouds. The little houses and fences are from Tando and the stamps are from here and there. The ones that I highlighted white pen on are from Joanna Sheen but the others date way back when and have long since lost their identity. Can't wait to see what you make.

Journal Page and Inchie

Hello Everyone. Thank you for dropping by on this very windy day here on the UK coast. I am off to the dentist for my next to last appointment so fingers crossed that will be it for six months. At Art Journal Journey the autumn colours theme is going so well with beautiful pages to see, if you click on a button they are all together and well worth a visit. When we visited my daughter she had got a few wallpaper samples and this is one she didn't like so I brought the piece home to use for something. Well here is the something and I used a stencil for the cornucopia and paper flower and real leaf. Every Inchie Monday has Nymph as their subject of the week Back to my daughter again for inspiration as she used to go fishing and made fishing flies, Some of them were little works of art and this one is a Nymph Fly. The hooks always made me cringe but she did catch some nice fish that we could cook. That's it for now though it looks like being another crafting day when I get back f

Tree Ornament

Image
Hi All. Today started off sunny we had a brisk walk and the rain came down so we hurried home and I have been crafting since we got back. Thank you for calling in to see what I made. At Anything but Cute the theme is 'It's Ornamental' I made a fairy for the top of our Christmas tree She started life as wooden peg and copper wire and I used my imagination for the rest. Shame the day is so dull because she does sparkle as her wings have gold glitter and she has a small, gold decoration on her head I would also like to add her to Crafting by Designs where anything goes this time. I hope your day is going well Love Chrissie xx

Cards

Hi All from a dark, wet NE UK coast. Too awful to go for a walk yet but maybe the sun will come out this afternoon. A good time to craft and join in a few challenges and then maybe watch some tennis on television so no grumbles from me. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts on your travels At Country View Crafts this month the theme is Feeling Blue. I hadn't many blue things at all but used Distressed ink to dye a few things to match. The flower is stamped on parchment and coloured with felt tips. Our Creative Corner have gone Topsy Turvy which is something to think about for sure Think I may need a few of these cards as we always seem to be upside down at Christmas Time. I decorated the digital tree with brushes I made in Paint Shop Pro Have a lovely weekend Chrissie xx

Hi All. Hope your week has gone well and that you have enjoyed your crafting. I seem to have stuff everywhere now I have a bit more time but I don't seem to be finishing projects so must try harder. I have a digital creation for Art Journal Journey where the theme is Autumn Colours for this month. The background was created from one of my husband's fractals from way back when and the face is also from long ago when I had a website. I was watching the tennis on television yesterday as it was raining outside so I didn't go for a walk. I sketched in charcoal while I watched and did this for Moo Mania, Crowns and for Show Your Face at Kim Dellow's blog I did a few more faces as well so will photograph them later. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Hello Everyone. I am pleased to say that my MIL may be coming home either today and tomorrow and has made a remarkable recovery. She looked like a different person, when we visited yesterday, from the one who went into hospital just over a week ago. Thank you for your kind support and thank you for your visits to Jumbled Crafts. The theme at Art Journal Journey is Autumn colours I painted the background with various acrylics in Autumn shades then I added PVA and stuck on crushed Autumn leaves which I had collected and dried. Then I sprinkled on some gold  and it sparkles in real life though not on the photograph unfortunately. The quote I found on Google. I think maybe I should do some stamping here and there to fill in some spaces.  At Kim Dellow  I am still enjoying seeing all the faces that people add each week and trying to learn more about drawing faces and the different techniques. I may have gone a bit way out with this face. It was a boy on a train listening to music. His eye

Inchie and Card

Hi All from a foggy NE UK Coast. Thank you for your visit and also for the kind thought about my MIL. I am pleased to say she is doing very well and when things are put in place she will be able to come home. This includes outside carers and some aids that she will need--not sure what yet. Every Inchie Monday this week has the theme Emotion A difficult theme but I thought I would go for happy and sad all in one go. I have lots of digital images that I won in the past so I thought it would be nice to join in a digital blog challenge. I found Digitally Sweet Challenges  where the theme is All About the Title I used this wonderful digital stamp by  Beccy Muir  and painted the background digitally to match the chicken which was already coloured by Beccy. It was great to do something like this and I hope to join in often. Have a lovely day Chrissie xx
