Tag and Atc

Hi All, nice to have you visit Jumbled Crafts today. Everyone seems to be busy at the moment so thank you for finding time to pop in. This week at Tag Along the subject is Hearts. I cut out a tag from some card with music on it and distressed it with various colours. Then I cut-out hearts with a punch and coloured them with spray paints. I just got a set from Dylusions, they have been on order for a while and came from the US via Germany so they are well travelled. I used the shapes where I had cut out the hearts as a stencil to put more hearts on the background. The next project I did yesterday was an ATC for Wicked Wednesday where the theme this week is Friendship. This is for my friends everywhere who have helped me become who I am and the crafty ones who have helped me to 'grow' in Blogland' I splashed the background and printed on the quote then stamped the 'love your friends' and added punched shapes in mirror card. Thanks to Alison I have changed the bott

Christmas Ornament

Hello Everyone who drops by--hope your day is going well. Not sure what we are doing today but it will include a walk somewhere as the last couple of days we have been doing h-------k and had visitors so time to get out and about again for sure. At Crafting with Dragonflies this time they ask us to make an Christmas Ornament for the tree or wall. I made this Santa from bits of felt that were left overs from Santa Socks that my daughter had made. I just made it up as I went along though I did look at some pictures online for inspiration. I stuck it onto a Nestie shape that was covered in glitter. Next I made a hole and threaded through some gold parcel tape so that it can be hung on the tree.I really had fun making this and hope to make some others with different faces on them. I am also going to enter this into the mini challenge at Anything but a Card  where the challenge is to recycle something. Well the bag of bits of felt would have been in the bin if I hadn't rescued it so t

Nice to have you drop into Jumbled Crafts and I hope your day is going well. A bit dark and damp here so far but I am hopeful. :) At Every Inchie Monday this week the subject is Rope. It is always amazing to see what people make for the challenges. It certainly stretches the mind to fit it onto just a one inch square. I did a messy painted background then made a coiled rope from some string. To make it look used I dabbed it with Distressed Ink. ******************* At Moo Mania the challenge this time is Tools. I thought which tools we use most and they are the ones for the garden.  The background is a photograph taken in our garden last year and I stapled the tools onto it after adding the apt phrase. I am going to give this to Vic to pin on the back of the shed door as he works so hard in the garden all year round. Have a lovely day everyone Chrissie x

A Tag with Bling

Image
Hello to everyone who pops in to Jumbled Crafts and a special welcome to my new followers--hope you like what you see here. There seem to be a few Bling challenges around at the moment so I made a Blingy tag to enter a few of them. I made the background with my faux gelli plate-this isn't gelli at all but makes good backgrounds. I have had the gold lady image for years and didn't know what to use it for but it seemed to be just right to 'bling' up. I added jewels and the pearl tie at the top. I would like to enter this at Tag Along where they have the theme-Ring-a-Ding-lots of Bling At Crafty Hands where they have Sparkle and Bling as their theme Also at Allsorts where it is time to Bring on Bling That's all for today folks. Hope your day is going well so far Love Chrissie x

Card and Photographs

Hi All. Cold and damp here so I am doing a bit of crafting and then I will have to clear my crafty space as it is so cluttered. The Challenge this time at Try it On Tuesday is White on White and there are some amazing samples by the team there I found it difficult  and not easy to photograph either it does look more textured in real life. I used the Cuttlebug folder-Chinese lanterns for the background. A nesties circle and a doilie next. Then I made a Tattered Flower with the Tim Holtz Die Cut. I added a couple of pieces of white peel-off and a white brad. Here are a couple of pictures from our walk yesterday. We went by the side of the Canal in Driffield. Old Warehouses made into flats Reflections Still trying to sort out the many settings on the camera so these aren't as good as I would like. Hope you are having a great day Love Chrissie x

Hello Everyone--hope the sun is shining where you are. It is here and we are off on the train to Driffield. It is a small Market town with a few different shops from the ones we have here in Bridlington.  Driffield also has a nice walk that was made to celebrate the Millenium. I am hoping it hasn't been spoilt by people walking dogs and letting them run free and trample down the lovely plants and shrubs. We haven't been there for ages so my fingers are tightly crossed and hoping it is still as beautiful as when we last went there. For the challenge at Twinchies Challenge blog the theme this week is Silhouettes. I used  part of a background I made a while ago with Distressed inks on a glass surface. I then sprayed it with a gold spray and wish I hadn't really. It was difficult to cover the surface with black as the gold seeped into the Promarkers, the black pen and also felt tips. We live and learn! Next is the challenge at Wicked Wednesday this week where they have polka d

A Combined Challenge effort

Hello to everyone who drops in to Jumbled Crafts. The weather here 10 minutes ago was very dull and raining now there is a hint of blue sky and maybe even sun :) I haven't been outside yet but I bet it is cold brrr So while I was out in the snow yesterday I thought of a walk we did a few of years ago. It was almost Christmas time and quite a nice day when we set off to walk almost 5 miles along the seafront and the cliff top to Sewerby Park. The more we walked the the thicker the snow became and the snowflakes were some of the largest I have ever seen. Not a clue why we kept on walking as we knew we would have to walk all the back as well.  Here is a scrapbook page I have been meaning to make for ages so I will always be reminded of one of the most surreal moments in my life. When we finally arrived at the park I bumped into Santa and he asked what we were doing out on such a day--I asked him what was he doing in Sewerby Park and he said 'he was giving the reindeer a rest'.

Photographs, Afternoon Tea and a Tag

Image
Hello All. What a day it has been here for weather. We walked along the seafront into town and the weather was glorious sunshine. When we got to town it was snowing and bitterly cold and we came back home on the bus. It has kept snowing on and off all day but not settled thank goodness walking along the front into town the gathering clouds Let it Snow ****************** At the Craft Room Challenge this time the theme is Afternoon Tea and they have a wonderful photograph if you need inspiration I wondered if I would get my project finished in time for the challenge and I am pleased to say that I managed to finish it this afternoon I decided to knit a tea cosie as we hadn't got one. The pattern was simple and I knitted some flowers to sew onto it as decoration. I also added the cupcake pin cushion that my daughter made for me a while ago. She made 50 of them and sold them for the Cat Protection Charity. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Last one today is my tag for Tag Tuesday this week where the

Hello to a new week and to everyone who pops into Jumbled Crafts--always great to read the comments you leave-THANK YOU This week at Every Inchie Monday the theme is OLD. I am sure this will mean lots of variety in the inchies that everyone makes for the challenge. I chose one of the names the English use for their police force. I did try to find out the origins of the phrase but it seems that no one knows for sure as the explanations were many and varied. Strange have we have so many names for policemen-some not very nice at all. I just call them Police :) Have a great day today Love Chrissie x

Hello Friends and Followers. I hope your day is going well. We have just got back from buying a new camera so hopefully I will learn how to use it and my photographs will improve. I blame Valerie  as her photographs always look amazing lol.  These were taken with the old camera and it is a dark, dreary day so they aren't too good even though I set up my light box for the second one. The Tag Along Challenge this week is Fruit and flowers I think I made this tag rather difficult really. I copied a drawing of the flowers and fruits of the wild pear then added Grunge Paste all around the image after I had coloured it with Promarkers. Then I let the whole thing dry and dropped some alcohol ink onto it -colour Lettuce, this spread out nicely. After that I sprayed it with gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist. It does look quite textured in real life but the photograph doesn't show that much at all. ********************************* Next project I made for the  Allsorts Challenge   where the them

ATC

Image
Hi from a  lovely sunny craftroom-always great to have you lovely people pop-in. Today my make is an ATC  for the challenge at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge  where this week  'anything goes' This is my ATC I made for the challenge  I started out by spraying an ATC card with various pale shades then I dropped different colours of alcohol ink onto it and left it spread and dry out. Next I edged it with Distressed Ink-the Aged Mahogany colour. It needed an image for sure and I have a sheet of girls from- I printed one out to fit the ATC and added the word 'nice' which I had already on a sheet downloaded a while ago. Have a lovely day everyone Chrissie x

Welcome to Jumbled Crafts all who pop in today. Hope the sun is shining where you are as it is here. I am off to get my hair cut--thank goodness. Every year about this time I think I will let it grow longer and it gets so messy I have to give in and go and get it styled again. At Artful Times the challenge this time is Alcohol Inks. Neet has been very busy showing us how to use them in different ways and I went down her metal route for this tag. I have had the piece of mirror card for ages as I didn't know how to use it with all the flourishes in black on it. I cut quite a large chunk off for the background and a smaller piece to do the AI technique. To give it texture I used the TH Gears folder. Then I added various colours of AI-eggplant, lettuce, cranberry and raisin. I left it to dry and when I looked again the black on the card had been eaten away by the ink. I then added one of my beautiful owl designs from Gecko Gals and stuck the whole thing onto black card. It still look

Orange, Green and Pink

Hello All and welcome from a very sunny but frosty NE UK. I love these sort of mornings except that the sun streaming in through the windows shows up the dust and the many things that need doing in the house. To avoid this I am going out for a long walk and then going to help plant a tree in the garden when I get back. By then it should be going dark and the dust will all have gone away as if by magic.:) At Tando Creative Images this time the challenge is Orange, Green and Pink-it is for the whole of November so plenty of time to join in for everyone. I have a mixed bag of the Tando star shapes so used three of those and coloured them in the required colours for the challenge. I used the same colours to create a background and stamped it in black and also stamped the shapes as well. I wasn't sure how the colours would work together but they look ok I think. Have a great day Chrissie x

Craft Barn, Moos and tag

Image
A beautiful sunny and bright day here today and I am off for a long walk after staying in all day yesterday. Vic says we will give the lawns a last cut as well so it looks like being a busy day. Hope you enjoy whatever you are doing and thank you for taking the time to visit Jumbled Crafts I seemed to have lots of things for challenges that need to be posted so please don't think you have to comments on everything in this post just chose the ones that are for your challenge though any comments are always appreciated :) At the Craft Barn Alpha Challenge this time the letter is Q With my new found passion for patchwork I just had to chose the word Quilt. Simply painted squares then added a flower die cut and faux stitching. The ribbon down the side is real though. Next is Moo Mania where the theme this time is Hands This is a page for my small journal and after using various sprayed colours I drew around my hand for the background. A few stampings here and there and the Hands Moos--

Inchie and Tag

Hi All from and cold wet NE UK coast. A day for crafting and doing a very large jigsaw I reckon. Not the jigsaw will be finished in one day but we do enjoy doing them during the winter months and it feels like winter today. I feel ashamed to be grumbling about our weather with what has happened in the Philippines--they are in my thoughts. At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is mouth. I just drew a smiling mouth--hope it makes you smile :) The Challenge at Tag Along is Time to Remember and I made this yesterday with the theme very much in mind. I stamped and coloured a green tag as the background then found a lovely poppy outline on Google and I printed it out on glossy photopaper. The paper I used is from Poundland and has 40 sheets of 7x5 and it is good quality. I coloured the poppy with a set of felt tips -also from Poundland. Promarkers won't work very well on photopaper. Hope you enjoy your day Love Chrissie x

Add a Feather

Image
Hello Friends and Followers. It has turned a lot colder this morning but the sun is beautiful with a clear sky so I may fit in a walk later. Last night we went to the little, local theatre to see a touring company in a comedy. It was really funny and on the way home the sky was very clear and we could see more stars than I had seen for years--I should get out more at night I think. At Wicked Wednesday this week the challenge is to add a feather somewhere on your ATC. Here is mine. I made the background of the ATC with different colours of Cosmic Shimmer Mist which I love to use. I have had the picture of the lady in the hat for many years and had already given her a make over in 2005 when I added a flower to her hat. She has now had another make over with various Paint Shop Pro effects and the addition of a feather in her hat as well. She is raised up from the background but it doesn't show very well on the photograph. Have a wonderful day everyone and thank you for popping in tod

Hello to Everyone who drops in today--hope it is sunny and bright where you are as it is her in the NE UK. At Technique Time Tuesday  the challenge this time is to make a Faux Frame using the wonderful video there as your guide. It is a great technique-simple but very effective and one I will return often I'm sure. I am so pleased to have found this blog and to learn this sort of thing. ************* I did say earlier in the week about our trip to Hull and that there would be some photographs but when Vic showed me how many he had taken I asked him to put a few on Flickr with a link as it would have been too many for on my blog. He has posted a selection here if you would like to see them--it is open to everyone. My main reason for wanting to go there was to visit the Maritime Museum in Hull as they had design exhibition of ganseys and jackets made, using the gansey pattern,s by students at the Art and Design College. Just to say that Hull has 8 free museums, a wonderful art galle

Beautiful day here and I hope it is just as nice where you are. Thank you for all the terrific comments you leave and for making my days special. I seem to be having tag fest at the moment-it could be the novelty as I didn't used to make many at all. The first one is for Tag Tuesday  where the theme this week is Proverbs I made the cherry background in Paint Shop Pro then coloured a drawing of a bowl of cherries. This was clear embossed but it doesn't show up the sheen on the photograph unfortunately Next tag is for Try it on Tuesday  where the theme is colour explosion I used acrylics for the background then found some bright embellishments to stick onto it. Last but not least is a tag for Use your Stuff where we are asked, 'How do you Stencil'  This is mine and I used something very different as a stencil. I made the background first with various alcohol inks and some glitter powder that melted into the water I sprayed on to make the inks spread out. Then I used gess

Hello Everyone. - hope your week is going well. I don't seem to have posted much this week and today we have been on the train to Hull and had an amazing day. Lots of photographs taken by Vic so I will see what he has taken and post some another day. At  Art Journal Journey  the theme this time is Door/s. I decided to be a bit more adventurous with my page designs so I am hoping that it looks ok Lots of gesso, stamping, a sentiment on acetate and even some real flowers that I pressed. It is now stuck in my journal and maybe next time I will brave enough to do this straight into the journal :) Thank you for popping in today Love Chrissie xx

Hello Everyone--nice to have you drop by. It is really cold here today and white over with frost so we will be bringing some plants inside to keep them warm over the winter--not a job I like but I do show willing ;0) Thought I would post this to show support for Movember. Thank you Max for sending the moustache cut outs earlier in the year. Not sure I suit a mouzzie at all lol. At Every Inchie Monday the theme this week is a Caution Notice I went down the hard hat route for my sign At Show us your Twinchies for this month you can make anything so long as it includes some bling I coloured a poinsettia image with Promakers then stuck on some bling Hoping to get some crafting done today and then sew whilst I watch the tennis. Enjoy whatever you have planned Love Chrissie x
