Tag and coaster

Welcome to Jumbled Crafts all who pop in today. Hope the sun is shining where you are as it is here. I am off to get my hair cut--thank goodness. Every year about this time I think I will let it grow longer and it gets so messy I have to give in and go and get it styled again.

At Artful Times the challenge this time is Alcohol Inks. Neet has been very busy showing us how to use them in different ways and I went down her metal route for this tag.
I have had the piece of mirror card for ages as I didn't know how to use it with all the flourishes in black on it. I cut quite a large chunk off for the background and a smaller piece to do the AI technique. To give it texture I used the TH Gears folder. Then I added various colours of AI-eggplant, lettuce, cranberry and raisin. I left it to dry and when I looked again the black on the card had been eaten away by the ink. I then added one of my beautiful owl designs from Gecko Gals and stuck the whole thing onto black card. It still looked a bit bare so I used peel-off for the edges and a few words of wisdom from a sheet I bought a while ago. Hope you will pop along and join in with your ideas of how to use Alcohol Inks.

At Make my Monday the theme is Anything but a Card-Christmas Style.

I made a mug mat.
It set off as an old coaster which I covered with a circle cut from a cheap Christmas Bag--3 for £1. The bags are lovely card and quite glossy. I added a beautiful star that my daughter made on her sewing machine, then two die cut flower shapes. The small one I glittered with fine gold glitter dust. The peel-off was an after thought and may not last for long as I am now using the mat.

My cup of ginger tea-I like to leave the bag in as I just love the taste of ginger.

Have a great day

Love Chrissie x

  9. The metallic alcohol inks look completely fab on your amazing tag, Chrissie - I love it! And the coaster is very clever... Ginger tea sounds good too! Still chasing my tail a bit trying to catch up with things, I'm afraid - so apologies if I'm behindhand!

  10. Great tag Chrissie, and how strange that the black design was eaten away by the AI's. It looks great and I am sure you were pleased with the end result.
Love ginger myself - I drink Lemon, Ginger & Mango tea from Asda every day - in fact only that and the blackcurrant.
Hugs & Thanks for joining in
