Tag and Journal Page

Hi All and a happy weekend to you. Thank you for calling in and any comments that you leave are always appreciated. At Go Tag Thursday the theme this time is Wings I made the painted background and coloured the digi image in Paint Shop Pro. The wonderful digi stamp was from Beyond the Fringe years ago. I am not sure if Carla still does this sort of thing as I just popped to her blog and her artwork now seems quite different. I printed it out and mounted it on a large tag that I coloured with markers. Then I stamped a few winged things on just for luck. A Joanna Sheen small Bee a Cart-Us large bee and some Personal Impressions birds on a branch. Now to my last project this month for Art Journal Journey where Yvonne has been a wonderful host for the  'in my garden there is' theme. A thank you to Valerie and Susi for always commenting on my efforts and for making AJJ such a nice place to visit. This is our newest plant. Heaven knows what happens to it along the way but it does l

Journal Page and the wonder of nature

Hello Everyone. Thank you for visiting today, as always it is terrific that you find time to call in and much appreciated. At Art Journal Journey the theme for July has been, 'in my garden there is' A wonderful subject chosen by lovely Yvonne and very well supported. For this page I made a chalk background with a large music stencil in the middle. Then I just splodge away with different colours of acrylic. I did try to make the splodges flower shape as it was supposed to say garden and summer. I highlighted the shapes with marker pen and added the things I feel when I look at my garden. I would like to enter this at Moo Mania and More as well. They have the theme summer this time and only in summer do we have so many wonderful flowers in our garden. Now for the wonder of nature in our garden. We have several crocosmia lucifer plants in our gardens back and front. I would imagine they are male as they are strong and stand tall  In a corner of the back garden we have an old fas

Hello Everyone. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit today. The last week has flown by for me and the weather has been hot and sticky so I haven't been too busy crafting. At Art Journal Journal for July the theme has been chosen by Yvonne  and she chose 'in my garden there is'. There have been so many different thoughts on what is in the gardens and it is wonderful to see the different ideas. I made a before and after page. The top picture is our garden last year and the bottom one this year. It seemed time to let the garden and us breathe as it had been so full of fruit and vegetables in such a small space. Now we can play bowls on it and we do almost every day :) For those who are wondering where the fig grows. It is living happily with the tomato plants in a little lean too just out of view on the right hand corner of the pictures. Every Inchie Monday has Underground as their theme for this week. I would have loved to have drawn a mole in a tunnel but

Hi All. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. It is still hot here and the promised rain has still not arrived so the grass is already beginning to turn brown which is unusual for us. At Go Tag Thursday it their 6th challenge and the theme is Steampunk This is a mixed media tag as I designed a background in Paint Shop Pro I mostly used my own creations but the bike was from  Beyond the Fringe a long time ago. Thanks to Carla I have lots of unusual digital images. I then printed out the design and layered it then added steampunk bits to it. Art Journal Journey have the theme, chosen by Yvonne, In my Garden There is---. I have shown things from our garden as there are a lot of different things in it even though it is quite small This is a fig plant and the original one we bought 15 years ago. Every time we have moved dwellings we have taken cuttings with us. As we have been here quite a long time the fig here is quite large and full of figs ready to ripen. They taste delicious st

Make us Smile at Try it on Tuesday

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Thank you for calling in to see what the new challenge is at Try it on Tuesday . This week should make us all feel happy as the theme is 'Make Us Smile' Lots of ideas from the team at TIOT so pop over and have a look. You have 2 weeks to make us smile with anything you like to make so long it follows the theme and our  guidelines I made this large card by adding extra card to the inside to extend the A4 sheet of fancy card I found in my craft stash. It is now 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches. The green spotted, iron-on material and the spotted ribbon was a gift from Valerie. The purple spotted paper was a piece I have had for years I designed this in Paint Shop Pro using the wonderful bird image I found here and I coloured it to fit in with the background. You can use the piece if you would like it for a project-just right click and save. Love Chrissie xx

Inchie and Canvas

Hi All. Monday again so time for an inchie and time to say thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. Summer has arrived here and it is over 20 degrees with sun At Twofers this time the theme is 'these are a girls best friend', you have to use a real stamp and ink so it is nice to join in and get inky again. This 'canvas' started life a piece of packaging so not really a canvas at all. I painted it with acrylic paint and then added a picture. The picture background is Distressed Inks sprayed and the stamps are; dress-Kanban cat on chair- Docrafts Pampered Pets   The rose is an unknown stamp sent to me by a friend. I coloured them all with Sharpies, a black pen and a white pen. This week at Every Inchie Monday  the theme is spiral Hope these are spirals?? We did a bit of a kitchen makeover this week and decided the mug tree had to go. I thought it must have another use-------think----- it is now a hanger for all the rolls of tape I can never find in the bottom of the

Happy Weekend Everyone. Hope it is a nice day where you are. It is sunny here so far and a good forecast for the whole weekend which will be really lovely for us after all the rain. Thank you for dropping by today. At Art Journal Journal  where lovely Yvonne gave us the theme 'in my garden there is--'. It has attracted so many beautiful pages already and still the rest of July to join in. So many things in our little garden but still enough room to play a game of bowls in the middle. Will show you that another time. The page today is a little corner for quiet reflection. The background is just inks stamped onto the page. I used my leaf stencil that I made as well. The Buddha I have had for years as it is a sort of memorial stone for my son who died in Thailand in 1999. The other two figures were given to me by our neighbour when he moved to Scotland two years ago and they are very beautiful. Everyone seems to be drawing little birds at the moment so I made a effort--I can only

Apologies to those who thought they had already commented on my post yesterday then the comment was missing. Your comments were still there and so was the post but Google had posted the same post twice and each post had different comments. Very confusing I know. Now deleted one of them and added the comments all to the remaining one. Nice to have you join me today so thank you for calling in. At Art Journal Journey the theme chosen by Yvonne is, 'in my garden there is'. I made a collage with some more of our garden art. All of these things I got for 20p each at the carboot sale. The brass picture Vic varnished. This is the bottom creation and it started life a plastic mat. I'd like to share this at Moo Mania and More where Anything goes for the next two weeks.                                                 The original mat I painted it with white acrylic then Vic and me kept taking turns to paint one bit each until it was covered. That's what happens when it rains a

A Mixed Bag

Hello Everyone and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. A bit of this and that from me today Summer scene from our bedroom window-I think we need to order a boat At Art Journal Journey the wonderful garden theme, chosen by Yvonne, is producing some beautiful and interesting ideas. Some parts of our small garden are like an art gallery so I thought I would take a few pictures and make them into pages for this theme. This first one is a lampshade I bought for 50p at a car boot sale about 4 years ago and it has hung in the garden ever since. The little beads catch the sunlight--when it shines that is-- it is guarded by old DVDs that also catch the light and show all sorts of wonderful colours. I recently added a big gold butterfly that my  daughter gave to me.  A reminder that the Happy Holiday theme at Try it on Tuesday  still has a week left for you to join us. This is a postcard I drew back in 2011 to inspire you to join us, hopefully. Last but not least this is my tag for Tag
