A Mixed Bag
Hello Everyone and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts.
A bit of this and that from me today
Summer scene from our bedroom window-I think we need to order a boat
At Art Journal Journey the wonderful garden theme, chosen by Yvonne, is producing some beautiful and interesting ideas.
Some parts of our small garden are like an art gallery so I thought I would take a few pictures and make them into pages for this theme.
This first one is a lampshade I bought for 50p at a car boot sale about 4 years ago and it has hung in the garden ever since. The little beads catch the sunlight--when it shines that is-- it is guarded by old DVDs that also catch the light and show all sorts of wonderful colours. I recently added a big gold butterfly that my daughter gave to me.
A reminder that the Happy Holiday theme at Try it on Tuesday still has a week left for you to join us.
This is a postcard I drew back in 2011 to inspire you to join us, hopefully.
Last but not least this is my tag for Tag Tuesday this week where the theme is Down Our Street
I drew the houses and coloured them with Sharpies. Certainly nothing like our street but I can dream.
Have a great day all
Love Chrissie xx
Great work Chrissie hope it stops raini g soon and you won't need that boat!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Love your post card it is so clever and really reflects the sea. Colourful houses, I remember seeing in Italy houses pained on the outside with fabulous Trompe-l'oeil your bright houses remind me of that. XOXO
ReplyDeleteBrilliant creations Chrissie, looks like the rain is every where, so get sick of it... x {aNNie}
ReplyDeleteFabulous pieces of art Chrissie, I love your garden art, our neighbour is having their patio done and they have put up a lovely new very high fence so that we don't overlook each other, I've been wondering how to fill the space and you have given me lot's of ideas.

Wonderful creations Chrissie, all of them! But, oh my goodness, your weather is even worse than ours and here in Australia it is winter right now....
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of art in the garden. I have things in mine but never think of them as art. You are a smart lady to think that way. Sorry for all the rain, but it does seem you've found some creative ways to stay busy. Love all your pieces today, especially the holiday theme. Reminds me I need to make a piece for that. Have a wonderful rest of your day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHi Chrissie, I thought I left a post this morning, gremlins must be busy again. I love the fantastic page with your art gallery, a great interesting idea and its a super quote as well. The summer card and the tags look fantastic as well.

You did comment before Yvonne but for some reason the post was published twice and it was nothing to do with me. Google was having a bad hair day I think

Wow, what a great line up of projects Chrissie. I love the bold colours on your tag and those fun buildings! Beautiful lamp shade, and that sentiment is funny!! Oh what I wouldn't give to look out my window and see rain! We are officially in a drought now, such a shame to see my beautiful new home all shrivelled up and brown. sending wishes for warm weather to you. BTW, rain or not, buying a boat sounds awesome!! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork Chrissie, including the whimsical pieces in your garden. Please send some of your rain over to us, we are very much in need of it. take care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteI love those colourful wobbly houses.
ReplyDeleteThe doodled hills on the postcard are amazing and you've got me singing 'Summer Breeze'!
