Journal Page and the wonder of nature
Hello Everyone. Thank you for visiting today, as always it is terrific that you find time to call in and much appreciated.
At Art Journal Journey the theme for July has been, 'in my garden there is' A wonderful subject chosen by lovely Yvonne and very well supported.
For this page I made a chalk background with a large music stencil in the middle. Then I just splodge away with different colours of acrylic. I did try to make the splodges flower shape as it was supposed to say garden and summer. I highlighted the shapes with marker pen and added the things I feel when I look at my garden.
I would like to enter this at Moo Mania and More as well. They have the theme summer this time and only in summer do we have so many wonderful flowers in our garden.
Now for the wonder of nature in our garden.
We have several crocosmia lucifer plants in our gardens back and front. I would imagine they are male as they are strong and stand tall
In a corner of the back garden we have an old fashioned Montbrecia plant. That hides away with other plants and never grows very high and only has a a collection of small pale flowers. I think this one is the female of the story and flower later than the eager males. But there times do overlap----
Along comes one of the many bees we have in the garden--including bumble bees which built a nest a couple of years ago. It was under a pile of dead leaves.
The happy ending
The bee got the plants together and we now a more gentle flower with characteristic from both plants and a colour somewhere in between.
They will all live happily ever after -hopefully.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx

Beautiful whimsical flowers and your garden looks very pretty too! xxx
ReplyDeleteThankfully Yvonne explained "splodge" a few days ago, so I knew exactly how you created the flowers. This is a lovely AJJ (and MM&M) entry. Summer has definitely arrived in your garden and in your journal.
ReplyDeleteWow, I was impressed by the photos of your garden and how the bees have pollinated the flowers and changed them. That's amazing. BTW, I've never seen any of those flowers before, so they were all new to me.
I love your beautiful page Chrissie - Thanks a lot for joining AJJ and Moo Mania & More with it, your entries are always much appreciated as you hopefully know.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so beautiful - I can see the love and hard work you investigate in it! Amazing!
Happy weekend ahead!

Music and flowers, very good combination! What a marvellous garden, someone has green fingers... Sadly, if mine are ever green it's a case of stray inks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page you painted full of good things!
ReplyDeleteYour garden certainly looks healthy and beautiful too.
A perfect place to enjoy and attract some precious bees.
