Journal Page

Happy Weekend Everyone. Hope it is a nice day where you are. It is sunny here so far and a good forecast for the whole weekend which will be really lovely for us after all the rain. Thank you for dropping by today.

At Art Journal Journal where lovely Yvonne gave us the theme 'in my garden there is--'. It has attracted so many beautiful pages already and still the rest of July to join in.

So many things in our little garden but still enough room to play a game of bowls in the middle. Will show you that another time. The page today is a little corner for quiet reflection. The background is just inks stamped onto the page. I used my leaf stencil that I made as well. The Buddha I have had for years as it is a sort of memorial stone for my son who died in Thailand in 1999. The other two figures were given to me by our neighbour when he moved to Scotland two years ago and they are very beautiful. Everyone seems to be drawing little birds at the moment so I made a effort--I can only improve I reckon. The fairy is one I cut out from Papermania project my daughter sent for me to make
Better pic of Buddha and Chinese couple

We have just given our kitchen a bit of a makeover--only bits and bobs really but it does look different.

I made these for one wall and they start with a light shade at this end and go to a darker one at the far end but all with the same design. The flower is a free download here
They started out as pieces from a large cardboard box and I edged them with foil card

Difficult to photograph foil card with the sun shining through the glass back door.

Made the design in Paint Shop Pro and printed them out on matt photo paper and stuck them onto the cardboard 'frames'

Vic screwed them onto the wall with tiny screws

Lots more easy ideas at the kitchen end as well.

Hope you have a great day today-I will be watching tennis and golf.

Love Chrissie xx

  7. I love your page, and I think adding that photo onto it is perfect. What a beautiful sentiment, and I think the idea of dancing fairies a wonderful idea. Maybe it is the energy from the wonderful Buddha that gets them dancing. Hope you get that sun all weekend Chrissie. Hugs-Erika
