Hi All. Hope you week is going well and thank you for visiting my blog along the way At Art Journal Journey  there is still time to be inspired by a song hosted by Linda. Thank you for a great choice. This will be my last page for this theme as I have lots to do this weekend. I have really enjoyed making my pages and seeing all the others as well. These are some of the words from Beyond the Sea which has been sung by so many artist for years and years. I love to hear it as La Mer sung in French. I used an old photograph that Vic took from his Uncle's window when the sun was going down over the houses opposite. I digitally painted on the sea and added an image of a cruise ship. The original photograph At Crafting by Design they have the theme Let's Hear it for the Boys and Men My daughter gave me lots of kits she had bought from Create and Craft years ago. She also gave me precut cards and envelopes to fit as well as silver and gold card. I am working through them all to make c

Vintage Photograph

Hi All and welcome to Jumbled Crafts where today the post is for the start of a new challenge at T ry it on Tuesday . The theme for the next two weeks is A Vintage Photograph and you can make anything you like so long as it fits in with the theme. Great ideas from my team mates so I hope you will visit TIOT and maybe visit their blogs to find out more about the projects. I found my Vintage photograph here  and as it had a Paris theme I used a French paper design by With Wild Abandon . This was from a long time ago you now have to use the Etsy Shop to get papers etc from WWA. Thought I would show you how I made the wrought iron frame It started life as a very large Cornflakes Box that I cut up for the outside of the frame and the box middle Cut into strips and stuck on the outer edges of the box, make a box the size and shape that you want.. After that I curled the strips and sprayed it all with black paint. I made this up after seeing some things on here Hope to see your makes for the

Journal page and inchie

Hello All. Hope you enjoyed the weekend, we had a cold one with even a bit of snow from time to time though it didn't stay for long I'm pleased to say. Thank you for calling in today to see what I have made. At Art Journal Journey the theme is For the Record and at Moo Mania More the theme is Floral so I have combined the two in this page. I did this digital painting that shows a terrific folksie song and I always have the Terry Wogan version in mind when I think of it. I just loved to listen to his morning programme on the radio and was sorry when it came to an end. It was  so tongue in cheek and my sort of fun. At Every Inchie Monday we have BIG as the theme. I am still doing my inchie on jigsaw pieces and did a BIG top. I bet there are some terrific ideas as there always are each week. Have a great day. I am off out into the cold for a walk now --is that brave or stupid? Love Chrissie xx

A card and Scarborough Photos

Hi All from a very sunny NE UK Coast. It is cold and we do have showers but the sky is mostly blue and sunny so a nice day for a walk. Thank you for dropping by and I hope you will enjoy the post today. I just saw a challenge at Shopping Your Stash and it was to use something chipboard. I have a box full of chip board shapes so I thought it was time to get one of them out. The boot shape was one I had left from a set by Tando and I painted it brown and added some gold glitter--it now looks white on the photograph. The boot holes I filled with black beads and then added some silk flowers. We went to Scarborough one day in the week and it was a beautiful day. I forgot to take my camera so these were taken on Vic's phone. Lots of new beach huts and some double decker ones. They had set up an office to get people to rent the huts for the coming week when the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race ends along the seafront. This is the Grand Hotel which is mostly used for coach tours these days A

Hello Everyone who calls in and thank you for your visit. What a great week of sunshine we are having and the garden is getting spruced up a little bit every day. Still cold with frosty mornings but once that has cleared away it is like summer. At Art Journal Journey the 'For the Record' theme continues to attract wonderful ideas in all sorts of mediums so still time for you to join in there with your journal page I did a chalk background and then used a stencil to add the music. The page was photographed for the images to be added digitally. You get 2 songs for the price of one pic today. I love the power of the beat that Eye of a Tiger has and the jollity of Tiger Feet. The tiger slippers are the same as ones I had bought for me a few years ago. Not sure how the cat crept in but they do don't they? Do you know The Cat Crept In was a song by Mud as well, so three songs today lol Now to Moo Mania and More with their new theme Floral I couldn't resist using one of dear

Journal Page and Try it on Tuesday

Hi All. Hope you are well and thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts. Art Journal Journey have For the Record as the theme for this month and it is hosted by Linda . Lots of great entries and fun to see them all in one place here This record above all others altered my life and those of many of us at that time. I took the photograph one lunch time with my very first camera. It shows some of my classmates in summer uniform, that for most us meant we were allowed to take off our ties. The uniform dresses had just come in and were very expensive so not many had them. Back to the record. Up until we sneaked off from school to see the film, we had all been keen to learn but after that we started a 'jive club', joined youth clubs with rock and roll music, went to dance halls--you name it we did to be able to jive. This led to many other things that we weren't supposed to be doing. 'Rock and Roll' was a lifestyle not just a record. Now for a reminder that the wonderfu

Hello Everyone. Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and to a new week. Thank you for calling in. I am playing catch-up with my inchies after missing the last 2 weeks. This week the theme is poetry To show that it works I wrote this ditty As I looked at my inchie it wasn't too pretty I breathed in deeply, Then drafted this post Before tucking into my hot, buttered toast One of the weeks I missed, the theme was Grandmother I drew this lady which is nothing like my grandmothers at all The other week the subject was fish That's me caught up and going to do a few more to be well in front. Hope you have a wonderful day Love Chrissie xx

Happy Weekend Everyone and thank you for joining me here at Jumbled Crafts. I am not planning on doing much this weekend but have a few crafty ideas. lots of knitting and sporting delights to watch on television. A perfect weekend for me :) At  Art Journal Journey  the theme is for the record and at  Moo Mania and More  they ask for music so this is for both challenges. A sad song with a meaning for lots of us I'm sure. I love the Streisand and Diamond version. I took a lot of cat photographs when I was with Linda. Her three cats would have you snapping them all day long even when they are asleep. Willow's new bed Can I eat these? Willow again-he tries to eat most things The naughty twin, Oscar, helping me to clean out a cupboard. The only way I could tell the twins apart was the colour of their collars Oscar loves boxes and will sleep for hours in something far too small for him. As soon as a box is unpacked he is in it. No pictures of Felix he just curls up with Linda and hel

Back Home Again

Image
Hi All. We are home again after helping Linda to get as well as she can be at this stage of her recovery after the operation. We may go back again soon but we are seeing how it all goes. Nice to be back though we both have colds and I stayed up and did some crafting for a few hours in the night. Thank you for visiting my blog and the lovely comments. Sorry I couldn't visit yours but the internet was so slow where my daughter lives I gave up trying. At Art Journal Journey the theme is for the record and at Moo Mania and More they ask for music so this is for both challenges. I painted on a piece of corrugated card then stuck on various bits and bobs. It felt good to be making something again. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Try it on Tuesday goes Moody

Image
Hi All and welcome to Jumbled Crafts and the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday. This is a scheduled post but I hope to be back with you all soon. This time Valerie has made us a beautiful Mood Board from some of her own photographs. If you follow her you will know that she shows us wonderful photographs each day and is happy to share them for projects etc. So this is the TIOT mood board for this month and you can make anything you like so long as you say how the mood board inspired you. Think of the wonderful colours and images of Spring. If you need inspiration then call in at TIOT and see what the rest of great team has made for this challenge and also pop to their blogs and leave a comment if you have time. I used the collage to make the cover for an animated album of some of Valerie's photographs. The page backgrounds were made from the photographs on the pages The first thing I did was make a tile from the mood board then use it to fill the front of the album Thank you for

Collage and Journal Page

Hello Everyone and thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts. I am in limbo bat the moment as my daughter had a operation yesterday and I am going up to Cumbria to look after her when she gets back home. Still not a clue when that will be but, I may go tomorrow anyway, as there are few trains from here to where she lives.  I want to be sure I am there for her return home. Not a clue when I will be back in Blogland so this may be my last post for a while. A collage of my entries for last month at AJJ Just spent an hour making a mixed media piece for Art Journal Journey where their new theme is For the Record. The host this month is Linda  and I am sure the theme she has chosen will be very popular as we are asked to think of a song that has inspired us in some way I have chosen a Burt Bacharach song that always made me so happy way back in the 70s. He wrote the song for Butch Cassidy and the Sun Dance Kid, a film I have seen many times over the years. The raindrops are a stamp by Ryn
