Journal Page and inchies

Hi All. We are back from our trip to Wales which has been very enjoyable and relaxing. I didn't have access to the internet though Vic had on his phone so I could use that if I needed to. Hope your week has gone well and thank you for visiting Jumbled Crafts. Just caught up with your comments-thank you for leaving them. We went on four train journeys and all were quite different. The trip up  Mount Snowdon was spectacular, the trip around the lake on a small train was beautiful, the Welsh Highland train journey from Caernarvon to Portmadoc was very scenic and we had booked first class seats which are very comfortable. The last train was one we had missed out last year on our visit to Llandudno so we went there again on the bus and did the train trip on a little train that travels around the base of the Great Orme to the back of it. Well worth the trip for sure--all of them! If you would like to see some pics of the holiday Vic has added 60 of the 400 we took here --hope the link w

Music at Try it on Tuesday

Image
Hi All and thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts. A scheduled post from me as by now I should be in Snowdonia.  Time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday and I am sure you are going to enjoy joining us with the 'I can Hear Music challenge'. Anything to do with music just so long as we can see how you have followed the theme. Lots of great ideas to inspire you by my fellow DTs so do pop to TIOT to see what they have all made and to their blogs as well if you have time. You have two weeks to join in and I can't wait to see what you make.  If you are chosen as one of our top 5 you may be invited to be a guest designer in the future I made a piano card to send to a cousin who is taking piano lessons again after a 50 year break from them. Lots of patterns and ideas online for this sort of card I just adapted a some of the ideas to make my own version Piano with the top up. Card layer that makes the whole thing stand up and to write inside. Have a beautiful day Love C

Hi All and thank you you for your visit to Jumbled Craft. I have had a busy week with this and that but hardly any crafting and I won't be doing any after today as I am off to Wales At Art Journal Journey the theme is Journey for the rest of this month so lots of time to join in before it finishes. The background is one of our own photographs of a steam engine and we had just traveled on the train it was pulling. I am going on the Welsh Highland railway while I am in Wales and that will be another steam engine trip. It is wonderful that so many of the old engines are still doing these trips all over  the place now. On Thursday it was Vic's birthday and we went on the Yorkshire Belle that does trips along the cliffs from Bridlington to Bempton. Unfortunately the coast had chosen one of the rare foggy afternoons when the fog clings to the coastline but it did clear enough for us to see some of the thousands of seabirds that nest on the cliffs here. This is a new sculpture on one

Challenges

Hello Everyone who drops in and thank you for calling. First rain for a while here and it all seems much fresher which is great for the plants in the garden which were looking quite sad with all the cold winds blowing them about. A reminder that you still have almost a week to join in at Try it on Tuesday where the theme is Spots, Dots and Slashes so lots of scope with that one. Hope you will join in and if you are chosen as one of our top 5 you have the chance to be a guest designer in the future. I seem to have landed on a couple of nautical themes with the two challenges I am joining today. At Make My Monday  they have Let's Sail Away as their theme I have made a card and gift tag for  someone over 80 who is restoring a model galleon. Most digitally designed then printed out and arranged on a card. At Moo Mania and More their new theme is Water Digital collage from me using a photograph, taken by me in Whitby, as the background. Have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Monday soon seems to have come around again and here I am again welcoming you to Jumbled Crafts and saying thank you for calling in. At Every Inchie Monday the subject for this week is dimensional. All the words this year have been picked out of Hitch Hiker's Galaxy book and I have never read it so haven't a clue where the words appear. Vic usually knows where the word is in the book so I just ask him. I did simple building bricks for my version. I will be off on a journey next week so won't be able to post my next inchie until I get back home. Now to Art Journal Journey for another journey page as that is the theme there for the month of May.  On Friday we went on the train to Beverley so I saved the tickets to add to a page for the journey theme. We go most places by train as it is such a wonderful way to travel and lose yourself in the surrounding countryside. Close up of the quote. Now for a cat photograph. Willow has given up trying to claim his radiator bed as Feli

Hello Everyone and happy weekend to you. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts. Art Journal Journey  have the apt subject Journeys for this month and there are some amazing entries already with still lots of time left to join in. I made a page that reminded me of years ago when I spent Easter in Paris and it was all very beautiful. My background paper is by With Wild Abandon and the whole page is a digital creation today. Earlier this week I had an email from Zoe  saying she was thinking of coming to Bridlington for the day and could we meet. We have never met before though it is thanks to her and some of her friends that I started blogging. They had a challenge blog called Just for Fun and one of them asked if I would join in. I had never even heard of blog challenges, I was still hosting forums on Yuku, so it was a wild idea for me but I really enjoyed it and I'm still here enjoying challenges even though Just for Fun ended years ago. It was lovely to meet Zoe and she invite

Hello All. Nice to have you here at Jumbled Crafts today and thank you for calling in At Art Journal Journey they are asking for pages that show your ideas for the theme Journey that was chosen by Erika for this month.  Also at Make My Monday this week they have a beautiful colour palette as inspiration so I have combined the two challenges. I painted the background with Luminarte paints in various colours then splashed on some green alcohol ink. The stamps I used are by Joanna Sheen and the honeycombe one is Finnabair. Not sure who the Friends one is by as I bought it at a car boot sale. This is colour palette and image as inspiration at Make my Monday Have a great day

Hi All and welcome to Jumbled Crafts where you can see that we have a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday . We are sure you will love this one as it has so many possibilities. There are 2 weeks to make something and a chance to be chosen as one of our top 5 and you may be invited to be our guest for a challenge if you are one of the top picks. This is a digital collage I did in 2007. The background a fractal my husband made and I added lots of other things. The pierrot is one from Outlaw by Design where I joined for a year and got many wonderful images. I just added various spots, splashes and dots to this and made a card and matching envelope with the image Here is another set a bit bolder and brighter and made with various images. The edges are dabs of Distressed ink. Thank you for calling in and hope to see your

Monday again already. Where does the time go? Thank you for calling in and sharing part of your day with me. Art Journal Journey are asking for Journeys pages this month and I am enjoying recalling places I had forgotten about. I have only been to Glastonbury once and never to the music festival though I would have loved to have gone to something like that when I was much younger. I did love the magical shops in the town with all the fairy paintings, the smell of incense and beautiful candles--is it still like that I wonder? Every Inchie Monday have the theme Brain this week This is the 'naughty' inchie. I knew I made it but I couldn't find it when it came to the time to take a photograph. I searched everywhere I could think of except the bin, then Vic decided to look in there for it. He found it all dirty looking and a bit bent but he took a photograph with his phone and it has decided to be sideways even though it wasn't on the phone. I have given up on it :( I bet

Wooden Heart and Photographs

Image
Hi All and thank you for calling in today. At Creative Carte Blanche the theme is Wood, A Word and Something Wild. Just my sort of thing.  I added some wax to make the wood grain look brighter. Then made a stencil for the Word and coloured it with Sharpies. The cones I found near to the golf course not far from where we live. The centre one is plastic so nothing very wild about that. The flowers are all home made. I would like to join in with the heart at Anything but Cute where they are celebrating their One Year Anniversary--congratulations ABC. The theme is Celebrate your Style and this is very much the sort of thing I love to do. Show me anything plain and I will want to change it :) Yesterday and today there is an International Kite Festival on the North Cliff here in Bridlington. We went along as it was such a lovely sunny day. The only thing wrong was that it is was also freezing cold on the cliff top as there was a wind from the Arctic blowing our way and bringing a cold mist
