Wooden Heart and Photographs

Hi All and thank you for calling in today.

At Creative Carte Blanche the theme is Wood, A Word and Something Wild. Just my sort of thing.

I added some wax to make the wood grain look brighter. Then made a stencil for the Word and coloured it with Sharpies. The cones I found near to the golf course not far from where we live. The centre one is plastic so nothing very wild about that. The flowers are all home made.

I would like to join in with the heart at Anything but Cute where they are celebrating their One Year Anniversary--congratulations ABC. The theme is Celebrate your Style and this is very much the sort of thing I love to do. Show me anything plain and I will want to change it :)

Yesterday and today there is an International Kite Festival on the North Cliff here in Bridlington. We went along as it was such a lovely sunny day. The only thing wrong was that it is was also freezing cold on the cliff top as there was a wind from the Arctic blowing our way and bringing a cold mist with it. Good for the kites as they soared up in the sky above our heads. Some so high up they could scarcely be seen. It is difficult to capture the magic on camera that you feel when you look upward from under the kites

This one was just getting off the ground as we were leaving and I think the commentator said it was 70 feet long.

Have a great day. I will be watching Andy Murray struggle to win in Madrid--Come on Andy

Love Chrissie xx

  17. What a sweet heart, sweetheart! You did very well with your wild pinecones, even the ones not so wild, because wildness is in the perception, isn't it? Thank you so much for sharing the kite festival, it felt like I was there!

  18. Wow - those kites are amazing - and how do they fly them like that without getting all tangled up?!

Love your wooden heart (Elvis Presley, anyone?) - a lovely creative response to both challenge themes.

You really did a great job of staying on the theme with your wooden heart, the pine cones and the "love" theme. I also truly enjoyed seeing your pictures of the kite flying contest. Oh my goodness...what an utterly gorgeous setting! I have never seen that many unusual and beautiful kites! I can only imagine how lovely that must have been to see them all flying in person. Thanks so much for sharing your art and photos with us!
