Time at Artful Times

Image
For the third challenge at Artful Times  Neet has chosen Time as the theme.Great samples by the design team as always. Well it is about time I made Vic's birthday card so have used this theme to do just that. The blank card was stamped with a clock image all over-first in black and then in Tim Holtz Distress Ink-rusty hinge. I just love this colour. The image was from a set of stamps that were free with a magazine. The magazine cost £7.99 and I won't say what it was cause I wasn't thrilled with it at all but I was thrilled with the free stamps which were worth the price on their own. The topper I made in Paint Shop Pro and the quote I found online. Just need to make a suitable inner then it will be finished.

Challenge 6 at Out of a Hat Creations

Image
Lovely to have bloggers join in the Challenge 5 at Out of a Hat Creations  and make such wonderful pieces.  Don't forget to go there and see the wonderful samples by Sandra, Janet and Florence for Challenge 6. Anyone can join in the challenges and we would love to see what you make. This week the challenge is to use either our picture or one of your own that inspires you to make something for the challenge. The picture on Out of a Hat I used the picture posted on the challenge and found an old frame to paint and distress. Then I made 4 backgrounds from the picture and added a stamped image to each segment. I have recently bought the masked lady stamps from a friend on a craft forum so couldn't wait to use them. The name on them is designsbytabblykat. I coloured them with Promarkers then added some black lace top and bottom of the picture.

Out of a Hat Challenge 5

Challenge 5 at Out of a Hat Creations  is a shape challenge arch(es). My mind goes all gothic when I think of arches and then I think Goths which I love. There used to be lots of Goths in Whitby whenever we went there for the day but recently they have become less and less. Soon we will be there for a whole week in a fisherman's cottage and I am hoping to see lots of Goths then :) Many years ago I used to like making little stage sets so I have made one for a goth wedding A picture from above showing the figures and the flowers standing up I also made another arch. This one was inspired by the film Avatar which I love watching My idea of the life tree, fantasy flowers and the t-birds in the sky.

Ink It and Just a Hint of Pink

Image
At Craft-room Challenge it is Ink It so it was a good time for me to try out a stamp that is new to me as I won it in a friend's challenge. It is  Pampered Pets Purrfect Chair and I think it is really lovely. Also I wanted to entered the Just a Hint of Pink Challenge at City Crafters Challenge Blog as I loved the inspirational picture. I think this combines the two and I did get inky with the stamping and the distressing and covered in promarker as well :) Thank you for the challenges both.

Tando Creative Challenges and Artful Times

Image
Sorry to anyone who went to the wrong place for my entries I had posted the message on the wrong blog. Green is in at the moment and at Tando Creative Challenges it is teamed with yellow. I found a box of coloured hearts and sorted out the green ones-no yellow ones at all in the box-and made the background by decoupaging them. The little yel;low flower was sent to me by a friend with some in other colours as well and I love them. The 2nd challengae at Artful Times  is a green background so this card fitted in well for that challenge.

Out of a Hat Challenge 4

This week at Out of a Hat Creations is 'What's in Your Shed' but it could be anywhere that you keep things that might one day be useful. I don't very often go into our shed so it was nice to see that there were lots of things in there I could use for crafting in the future :) Remember you can make anything you like that is in the theme and it doesn't have to be messy or inky. I found these 2 boxes of mussel shells that we had collected ages ago with a project in mind and we can't think what the project was now. Here is what I made with some of them. The picture is of the Happy Fisherman which is the emblem of Skegness. I stuck that onto an old CD the made a bigger circle of thick cardboard and stuck the CD onto that. Then a seperate circle with a cut out middle to stick on the shells to make the frame. The shells were difficult to stick so I found something else in the shed--a very large tube of silicone glue-- so I used that and it worked well. Add the frame t

Craft Room Challenge is Music

Image
Here I am again with time to look at the challenges I usual enter. It has been a hectic time for me recently with lots going on and my daughter staying for a week and showing me other crafts--mainly sewing which I am not very good at :( At Craft Room Challenge the theme is music so I have made this card. The prize is really lovely.

Challenge 3 at Out of a Hat

Image
This week at Out of a Hat the challenge is to use some of your craft stash and I have had this scrapbook for years just waiting to be used. Also had the doillies for a very long time as well so I have combined the two for this challenge There was only the one that was heart shaped but it did inspire the theme for the page The photograph on the left is my Grandma and Grandfather-no one seems certain if it is their wedding photograph or taken after or before that. The other photograph is of my dad when he was about a year old. I never saw either of these pictures until recently when my aunt was sorting through boxes of papers and found them. Both were obviouly well love pictures and the one of my grandparents even has elastoplast in the top corners where it must have been hung up at some time. These are only copies that I have made. Nice to have a page safely in the scrapbook and I hope to do more soon.
