Art Journal Journey

Hi All-been raining in the night but it is now brightening up a bit so maybe off to the car boot sale soon. We made a rash decision to start decorating the bedroom at some point today--that could wear off if we give ourselves time to think about it :) Hope you have a great day and thank you for calling in.

At Art Journal Journey the theme is Houses. I have learnt so much since taking part there and was so nervous at times as there are some awesome entries. Susi has encouraged me with all her wonderful comments and I now realise that I can do all sorts of different kinds of art and enjoy learning.


I copied Valerie's great idea and did lots of background pages in my journal so I could choose one background I liked for this theme. I used felt tips and Promarkers to create my picture which is influenced by a picture I saw online. Looks like the page came adrift a bit so I need to stick that back in.

Thank you to Susi, Valerie and all the people who share their ideas in Blogland and inspire us in ways they may not realise.

    Your page is beautiful, I would like to move into the little house on the left! Thanks for the nice words, making backgrounds is always good, and something we can do even on uninspired days - like I have today!Love the colourful flowers and trees, so pretty.     This is a very sweet and charming neighborhood scene. The muted colors give it a very vintage feel, and I can even imagine the design used for an embroidery or appliqué piece. Blessings!

    It's an enchanting page, with all the inviting playfulness of the best children's book illustrations (do you know the Madeline books? Very much reminds me of them). And how lovely to read the post about Susi's brilliant site and encouragement. I'm a huge fan of her work, and am always meaning to focus some time on art journalling - never seems to happen, somehow! At some point I'm going to ditch all DTs and follow my gut...

Hi All. Thank you for visiting today and I hope you like what you see here. A fine bright day but colder today so I may fit in a walk later though I had some curtains to make before I do anything else. At Tag Tuesday this week the theme is Diva. I don't always remember to show my tags for there as you need to be a member and and do your own posts on Tag Tuesday's blog. I chose Elizabeth Taylor as my Diva she was so beautiful in films but definitely a Diva in her private life. Art Journal Journey are still drawing me in with the artists inspired theme so here is yet another page for the challenge there.  This was inspired by Damien Hirst though years ago I didn't feel inspired by his work at all when I saw some of it for real at the Liverpool Tate Gallery.
