Tag and TIOT reminder

Hi All. Nice to have you call in and thank you for your support at Jumbled Crafts.

This week at Tag Tuesday the theme is Shoes, Hats and Bags

I just happened to have a shoe catalogue handy and it had bags as well though the hat was from something else. Not a clue why I added the upside down baby or the heart-must have been a senior moment.

At Try it on Tuesday we have the theme Book Pages for another week so I hope you will join in and make anything you like so long as it has a book page or part of one on it.

I made a front cover for a journal.

It started life as a photograph album



The pages had photo corners on them so Vic took them off for me to use the pages to paint on


The paper is really nice and there is a cover for each page as well which will be useful if the paint is still wet when I close the journal.

I did a lot of paper piecing for the background then used Distressed inks to colour it. Cut out shapes for the head and shoulders then found things from magazines for the face and hair.

    Wow Chrissie, the cover looks fantastic, it must have taken you ages to piece all the papers. Her face is so expressive and I love the flowers for her hair. It looks like hand made paper in the journal?
    Its a super collaged tag as well, I had to have another look to notice the upside down baby.

    Great shoe collage - though the upside-down baby's eyes gave me quite a turn! The album is gorgeous - looking forward to seeing some work on those lovely papers - and the cover looks fabulous. Love your book page cutie with her flowery hair!

Hi All. Thank you for visiting today and I hope you like what you see here. A fine bright day but colder today so I may fit in a walk later though I had some curtains to make before I do anything else. At Tag Tuesday this week the theme is Diva. I don't always remember to show my tags for there as you need to be a member and and do your own posts on Tag Tuesday's blog. I chose Elizabeth Taylor as my Diva she was so beautiful in films but definitely a Diva in her private life. Art Journal Journey are still drawing me in with the artists inspired theme so here is yet another page for the challenge there.  This was inspired by Damien Hirst though years ago I didn't feel inspired by his work at all when I saw some of it for real at the Liverpool Tate Gallery.
