Beside the Seaside

Image
Made this for the Dragons Dream Challenge where the tag was to be 'beside the seaside' using a stamp. Well I had one large, demented seagull stamp and four small penguins all on one stamp and nothing else that shouts out beside the seaside. Decided on the pengiuns after much thought about it all. I used a photograph that my hubby took at Spurn point and made it tag shaped in Paint Shop Pro. This is also going to be my entry for Just For Fun where it is 'anything goes this week'. I can get my swaps sent off to Zoe now :)

Multi Challenge Entry

Image
I don't usually enter anything for more than one challenge with the same thing but this seemed to fit into a few this week and it did take me a long time to make this easel card so here goes. I set off with the beautiful inspirational picture at Magnolia-licious it is the 8th one of this kind they have had and the colours are always fantastic in the pictures. Thought the pyjamas went well with the bedroom Then to Gingersnap Creations where there is a recipe challenge for 3 words, three papers and 3 buttons and this card just fitted the recipe. I used white paper to make a doilly, then made 2 papers in Paint Shop Pro to make the flowers. On a roll so thought I would enter it at Oldie but Goodie where it is anything goes week. Then the Craft-room Challenge is Summer Birthday so I hope it will fit in there as well. The card ready to pop into an envelope. The card stood up. I was one of the top 10 with this card at Gingersnap Creations

Where in the World and a sketch challenge

Image
I have combined two challenges here as I haven't had time before today to enter the challenge at Oldie but Goodie  where they have the theme 'Where in the World'. I have had this stamp for a very long time so thought I would chose Japan. Also I have used this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday  because I always find I can come up with card ideas if I use the sketches there. Just noticed that the image looks a bit wonky but it isn't in real life it is just because the card is on the easel and tilted a bit backwards.

Kissing at Come and Get It

Image
What an amazing way to pass a Sunday morning! I have really enjoyed trying lots of different stamps using this technique but liked these two stamps together best. Here is my entry for the Come and Get It challenge where this week it is the 'Kissing' technique. These are the two stamps that I used for the challenge I think the leaves look a bit like Maori art with the shape effect on them. Thank you for the challenge.

Clean and Simple Challenge

Image
This is the challenge 104 at Moving Along with the Times  It was nice to make something simple for a change and this type of card is always handy to have in I think. I couldn't photograph it too well because I got reflection in the silver card. I used a stamp designed by Jesse Edwards

Another Steampunk piece for the JFF challenge

Image
Well I did have time and here is my second effort Sprayed a little tin with gold paint--then sprayed lots of other things that I found in the shed--hope they weren't important lol. It's fun this Steampunk :) so have a go at the challenge here at Just for Fun and another thing---I have been trying is the shaving foam technique -tut by Sam at JFF- and I just love the smell of the stuff. Here is a piece of paper I made using some gold paint and various inks on some crumpled paper.

Steampunk at JFF

Image
Well they have a fun subject at Just for Fun this week. I have only ever made Steampunk anything once before and not sure I grasped the concept then--well still not sure to be honest lol. Loved looking at the DTs samples and also all the entries so far and wish I hadn't made mine yet cause I came away with lots of ideas after seeing all the others lol. This is a photograph of my dad and my aunt--everyone seemed to have a picture taken sitting on or near to a moon shape in the olden days lol My dad was a design engineer and I am sure he would have loved to know that he is now part of a Steampunk piece of art :)--or is it?  It is about postcard size. If I have time I would like to do another one now I have seen all of the great work from everyone else.

Week 67 at The Shabby Tea room

Image
The challenge this week is a beautiful picture to inspire us and the theme is gingham/polka dots with the colours in the picture, Always great challenges at the Shabby Tea Room and really lovely samples.

Sketch Saturday 160

Image
I bought some Mini World Tilda and they are so cute so I thought I would use some of them them on this weeks sketch. Lovely samples from the DT as always at Sketch Saturday  and a really nice sketch to use as well.

Inspired by a song

Image
The challenge at Moving Along With the Times  is be inspired by a song to make something. I made this image in Paint Shop Pro from a teacup and saucer I got here earlier in the week. It was a free digi image and I couldn't wait to use it. The little birds and the flower images I have had for a long time. I layered all the parts onto card then assembled them and added corner peel-offs. Loved the challenge and the samples were amazing.

Getting Tangled Up at JFF

Image
This is a great way to stay awake whilst watching television. I had pens and coloured pencils by the dozen and a digital image I have had printed out for ages--then I let my imagine take over and this is what I came up with for the challenge at Just for fun this week. Great samples the designers did -all very inspiring

Tag in pink with a butterfly

Image
I made this tag to enter the challenge at Try it on Tuesday  and also at Magnolia-licious Challenges I love pink so was pleased to have found that the challenge at Magnolia-licious was pink. I also love putting butterflies on cards and tags so that fitted in with the Try It on Tuesday butterfly tag challenge.

Altered Dolls at Craft Room

Image
Well I have never done anything like this before but it was so much fun. I didn't know where to start really but the ideas just kept coming as I went along. What a great idea it is to alter a paper doll and I am pleased that I found Craft Room Challenge . I visited the online shop as well and have ordered a tool for the Distressed inks so I will be able to make a better job with those in the future-hopefully. Doll before altering-looks as though she needs a make over That's better! She has got a job in the recruiting dept at the army offices-should do well with this outfit for sure lol.

In the pink, green and neutral

Image
At The Shabby Tea Room the challenge is Pink, Green, Neutral and flowers. I love these colours together and made this easel card with them. The framed backing paper I made in Paint Shop Pro and printed the images onto a textured cream paper.

Colour and Sketch Challenges

Image
I have made this for the colour challenge at Come and Get It   and for the skecth challenge at Sketch Saturday Haven't attemped two at once of these sort of challenges before and found it quite difficult to keep to both at the same time

Tim Holtz at Just for Fun

Image
Would you believe that I am  'Tim Holtz virgin'! I have received lots of things made with his products and just love them but I have never got around to making anything myself. A few weeks ago I won a voucher for a card I had posted on a blog and chose 2 distressed inks as the prize. The colours are 'old paper' and 'aged mahogany'. I'm sorry to say that life got in the way of me trying them until last night when I just had to try the challenge at Just for Fun I watched a couple of videos on how to use them and looked at the lovely examples that Just for Fun girls had made and these are my offerings. Not sure if they are right or not--oh and not sure how to get rid of 'aged mahogany' finger ends either! Must get some more of these inks and some of the other things at the TH shop. First attempt--a tag. Just inked over the tag which had been through a Cuttlebug Folder. Then punched a couple of flowers and used the big one as a shape to stamp around and

Sketch Saturday 158

Image
It is lovely to have more time again and get back to crafting and I do love the Sketch Challenges at Sketch Saturday . Lots to think about on this sketch for sure.

Weird and Wonderful

Image
I couldn't resist this challenge and the work by the Designers was terrific here  at Try it On Tuesday. This is the card I made for a Goth Anniversary. A friend has a married nephew and they had a wonderful Goth wedding so I will give her the card to give to them for their anniversary. I painted a piece of card with some mauve emulsion and then stamped on it randomly in black. The black line is satin ribbon and the lines at the top are peel-offs.

Eye Spy with my little eye at JFF

Image
New month of challenges starts off  here  at Just for Fun with Von coming up with an Eye Spy challenge. My brain seems to have been asleep for a couple of weeks with our holiday away, then the visit from,my daughter and son-in-law and now we have decided to have new carpets fitted in the lounge, hall, staircase and landing. Never thought that would mean so much work for us but you move something and find you need to decorate behind and then, suddenly, it ivolves the whole wall and the adjoining walls :(. We have until next Friday to do it all before the carpet fitters arrive. I have had the morning free to do my 'eyes' challenge.:) Lovely samples to inspire all of us. Made a backing then layered it onto card. The magnifying glass and logo are decoupaged and a bit of hand drawing on the odd eye lol. It is postcard size 6x4 inches
