Altered Frame

Image
I bought these three frames for only £1 for all three so a real bargain.  I have altered all of them but thought this one would be suitable for the challenge on Try it On Tuesday  which is sponsored by The Craft Barn for this challenge The photograph is one of my dad and his sister taken in 1925

New Baby Challenge

This is my card for the C.R.A.F.T Challenge  I am never quite sure what to put on a new baby card and I loved seeing all the cards that have been made for this challenge so far

Anything but Square

This is an easel card with Milly and a teapot outline I coloured to match, being the outline--nothing square on this card at all. I made it for the challenge at Gem of a Challenge

Multi Challenge

Image
Here I am being very brave and making something to enter into more than one challenge. I made this small gift bag and the colours of the bag and the things on it were so I could enter it in the Gingersnap Creations yearly challenge Not sure why the small squares look a shade of green as they are a  bronzy metal paper. The second challenge is one on Try it on Tuesday  where you had to use at least 3 inchies on the project-never thought of those before but they do add some interest so will be using them again. Last but by no means least I am entering it in the Just for Fun Challenge. This was the most challenging for me as I am no good at stamping and the challenges at the moment are 'Making Friends with your Stamps'. This week is trying something you haven't tried before. Well that includes most things to do with stamping in my case. I embossed on the bag, I used a stamped image to decoupage on the bag, I used two colours on one stamp at the same time and the best thing is

Monochromatic Challenge

A lovely idea for a Challenge on Cup Cake Craft Challenges I bought 3 small frames for £1 and have altered all of them in different ways. It was nice to have an idea for one of them by doing this challenge. The frames before-- I painted the frame with PVA glue and let that dry. Then I painted it with some old emulsion paint that had 'gone of '. It was all bitty but dried with a lovely texture. On top of that I added a coat of H20 paint in pink. Added a bit of floaty feather and paper flowers to one corner and buttons and jewels at the side. Loved making this-thank you for the challenge. I won a £10 voucher when I entered this challenge--YIPEE

Paper Piecing Challenge

Image
Only ever tried this once before and I didn't really know what I was doing so thank you for the tutorial. The challenge is on C.R.A.F.T. Challenges I used plain mauve paper for the jacket and gold glitter paper for the lapels and cuffs. The cravat is the same as the patterned background paper. It was a lot of fun doing this and it can be for a man's birthday or Father's Day card I reckon.

New Format Challenge

Image
Well there are still lots of things I haven't tried for sure so I went for a search first thing this morning. Not even sure what this type of work is called but it all looked amazing here  scroll down and click on greetings with patterns. The one I chose to make looked like the most simple to make but it has taken me all day--good job I had to stay in anyway for some parcels to be collected. The flowers are cut from the white sheet of paper then folded so that they stand up when the card is opened. I coloured my flowers but the self coloured ones look terrific. Thank you to Just for Fun  for getting me to learn something new and now I want to make another of these that is more complicated. Will have to stay in for 2 days I reckon.

Doorhanger for C.R.A.F.T Challenge

I haven't made one of these before and I really enjoyed the challenge  on Craft Challenge this week. The flower is decoupaged and I made the Guest Room Label in Paint Shop Pro.

New Techniques Challenge on Just for Fun

Image
Well this got me thinking for sure. I am always saying I will try stuff and never get around to it so now is the time to have a go! Just for fun has motivated me yet again! Ages ago I got a book from the library about stamping ideas and at the time I wasn't even any good at stamping on paper let alone trying any of the things in the book. One thing stuck in my mind and that was stamping on dough. The mix was 4 parts flours and one part salt and just make a pastry dough using water then stamp on it. You can make a hole by using a straw when the dough is still wet. Cut out shapes and leave them to dry and use as you wish after that. Here are some I have made though I have loads more from 100grms of flour and 25 grms of salt. I painted these ones then used Promarkers to pick out some of  shapes

Tag for Challenge

Image
The Challenge this week on Try it on Tuesday  is to make a tag with a woamn on it somewhere. This is mine and I really enjoyed making it. Not made many tags before so it was food for thought. I coloured the image with Promarkers and made the flower from newspaper and painted it with O2 paint-edged with brown from my old watercolour paints. I coloured the lace with Promarker but it looks cream on the picture--looks a pale shade of brown in real life.

Try it on Tuesday-Inspired by a Song Challenge

Under my Umbrella by Rhianna I love this song and also love this image so had to enter the challenge here

Get to Work Challenge

This is my entry for the challenge on Gingersnap Creations It was fun doing the zentagles but they have got a bit hidden with other stuff.

Mixed Media-Lost

Image
This is my entry for this weeks Mixed Media Challenge on Just for Fun I had glitter and paint all over the place so it definitely was messy. I started off by putting glue on a piece of card. Adding sprinkles of different glitters and, when it had dried, I drew trees with a marker pen. Hadn't a clue where to go from there so added a face and ran a bit of silver card through the cuttlebug to cut out a hat. Still lost so added the word lost. Stamped randomly around the edge to finish it off.

Little thank you card

I made this for the Cupcake Challenge here -this week you can make anything at all just so long as it doesn't involve a square anywhere. It is the first time I have entered anything on Cupcake Challenges but it all looks very nice
