T is for Train

Image
Hi All. Second post for me today as I want to get a post in for T day Day. Welcome to everyone who pops in at Jumbled Crafts and a special welcome to the T gang Elizabeth is hosting T Day as she does every Tuesday and this week my drink was on a train. The day was damp and dark but we decided to have a stroll around the houses and ended up on the train to Scarborough instead. It was foggy and we couldn't see much of scenery along the way but we did enjoy the change of shops and the excitement of an unexpected journey.  On the train our drink was a bottle of Iron Brew and a very healthy Chocolate Cornflake nest with miniature Smarties on top. I am still a learner with my new camera but it is good to learn something new Our lifeboat crew were doing a bit of training on the beach. It was difficult to know what they were doing as they have a perfectly good trailer to take the boat up and down from it's boathouse to the water's edge.  They were practicing the same technique tha...

Journal Page and Inchie

Image
Hello Everyone. I hope you enjoyed the weekend. I have been watching sport a lot of the time as the Six Nations Rugby started on Saturday. I look forward to this every year and it is usually worth the wait with great matches being played. Thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts At  Art Journal Journey  this month  Linda  is the host and has chosen the theme '50 Shades of Red. I'm all yours in Buttons and Bows The title is from the Film Annie Get Your Gun, as you can see by the picture, with Betty Hutton in her wonderful red outfit. This film came out in 1950 and that is when I first saw it. I now have it on DVD so can watch it whenever I like. I painted the background red and added some red glitter then looked for red buttons and bows to finish it off. Every Inchie Monday this time has Pig as the animal of the week Here is my snooty pig and I really enjoy making this inche-well I always enjoy making all the inchies to be honest. Remember to pop in on Tuesday for ...

Paper Piecing

Image
Hi All from a sunny NE UK coast. It is very cold though I haven't been for a walk yet. Thank you for calling in. I saw a challenge on Annie's Blog and it was for Paper Piecing at Allsorts Challenges As far back as I recall I haven't tried Paper Piecing before and I am not sure what I did was right at all but I like the finished card even if it isn't my usual style. The background paper is Crafty Individuals' Travels in Italy' and the digital stamp is from Whoopsiedaisy . The beautiful die cuts were some of the ones that Avril sent to me-thank you  Avril' and the flowers I made. Side view of decoupage dress and boots. I just got a new camera so I am still learning how to use it. I am hoping my photographs will improve before too long. I took this Turnstone on the seafront yesterday and this 'waves and cliffs photograph'--first time using the camera. Have a great rest of the day Love Chrissie xx

Journal Page and Tag

Image
Hello to everyone who drops by Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. Still grey and damp here today but not the awful rain we had yesterday thank goodness At Art Journal Journey this month Linda is the host and has chosen the theme '50 Shades of Red. I do like the way I can choose to be a digital artist, a painter or a crafter with these challenges as I love being all three. Sometimes all on the same page. This is all digital with a face I painted in Paint Shop Pro and I have added lots of red flowers. The background is a red colour chart. I really do love red and my nickname used to be Scarlet Lady when I had a CB radio way back when. Hope it was for right reason? At Go Tag Thursday this week the theme is Anything goes. I have finally set up my sewing machine and I sewed some ribbon onto card for the background. The added things I have collected from nearby hedgerows and altered with wax and glitter.. The dried seaweed is a small part of a bunch that had blown onto the ...

New Challenge at Try it on Tuesday

Image
Welcome to Jumbled Crafts and thank you for calling in. I am sure some of you will be here to see what the latest challenge is at Try it on Tuesday . Always exciting every two weeks when we start a new challenge. Lots of inspiration by the team as well if you visit TIOT.  The theme this time is Hearts and Flowers. I made something to give to Vic on Valentine's Day Inside it will have real seed packets when I find out which ones he would like this year. We always get lots of seed catalogues in the post and he orders lots of seeds from them so I will pay for them this time. Good old Amazon envelope with the sides cut off to make a folder shape Covered with some of the beautiful papers from this book my daughter gave to me when she gave up paper crafting. That's about it really except for using a couple of envelopes to make pockets and some pictures of seed packets. Have fun with the challenge Love Chrissie xx

T is for Tag Tuesday and Tea

Image
Hi All. Second post for me today as there will a scheduled post for tomorrow and might get a bit crowded if everything comes at once. Welcome to anyone from the T Gang Tag Tuesday this week has the theme Square Grids and Mosaics. I made one of each. Be sure to pop in next Tuesday to hear news about changes to Tag Tuesday  I used to help my daughter when she was making big patchwork quilts and sewing every stitch by hand.It involved cutting out lots of shapes from thin card then bigger shapes from the materials she was using. Then the material ones were tacked to the card ones. A real labour of love though she did buy me a special quilter's square rule to help with the process. This is a tag to represent those days. This is a mosaic background and a photograph of another of my daughter's projects. She did a large tapestry picture of a Samurai warrior and I took a photograph and made him into a Paint Shop Pro Brush. This is a digital piece with other PSP brushes I added as well....

Journal Page and Inchie

Image
A new week already and almost the end of the month so that will mean lots of new challenges for us all to join in. Thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts today At  Art Journal Journey  the challenge for January is chosen and hosted by  Erika . The theme is Every Journal Page tells a story. It has been a great theme with lots of amazing entries and terrific stories to go with the art projects. This will be my last page for this month and it tells the tale of a very crowded and cluttered craft room. The poor owner is always collecting things that could be made into something else in the future. The trouble is that time runs out too quickly and everyday brings more things of interest that could be recycled. I am sure you aren't such a crafter so it won't be your room--I wonder whose it is? At Every Inchie Monday the animal this week is donkey I found this difficult though we still have donkeys on our beach in summer and I should know what they look like. Hope your day g...
