Journal Page and Collage
Hello Everyone. Hope your week is going well and that the weather where you are is good. We have snow forecast today so that will be different :) I'm almost looking forward to it. Thank you for dropping by today.
At Art Journal Journey the theme is Winter Wonderland and as I am hosting this month I have had such a great time visiting all the entrants blogs and seeing the many ideas.
On the page today I just dabbled and daub with emulsion paint in various colours to create, what I hope is, a wintery scene. Then I found a few things left over from Christmas projects and stuck them on. I added Let it Snow because I am quite happy if it does, we have had dark and wet for so long it will be a nice change.
At Moo Mania and More the theme is Famous People. What a great idea for a challenge.
I did a digital collage for this, set in Marie Antoinette's dining room. I altered the quote she supposedly said and made it kinder as I am sure she never said it at all.
Have a great day all
Love Chrissie xx
Lovely winter scene - the colors are gorgeous and I like the mix of the painting with the collage ! Thank you says Art Journal Journey and thank you for the fantastic digital collage for Moo Mania & More. in this way the quote sounds much better...lol! You are right!

DeleteI love you pieces Chrissie! You can almost see the snow swirling on your Winter Wonderland. I would like snow too, anything other than just this grayness!xx
ReplyDeleteAdore your art journal page, all that dry brushing adding texture, movement and life to the project. It certainly does create a very authentic winter scene. Fantastic work Chrissie. XOXO
ReplyDeleteLove your page. Tat background is stunning and wintery all on its own. And what a great homage to Marie. Those cakes are definitely what she'd have on her table! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteI think we are due down here later in day for some snow - but the lady on my weather station has her umbrella up and not got her winter hat on yet.
Really love your moo mania collage and the changed quote is much much better :)
Have a great day........ Gill xx
So wonderful artwork, dear Chrissie.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining us at MOO MANIA & MORE
Wow, beautiful Chrissie! I am really loving seeing all the winter wonderland projects, I think I may jump in and play along with your fabulous theme!! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThese are truly beautiful, Chrissie. I had never heard of emulsion paint, but after doing an internet search, learned it called LATEX or acrylic in the US. The effects you got with this paint were wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour famous Marie and her quote had me laughing. I can only imagine Marie knowing how to bake a cake! But it's a great take on the quote, anyway. Lovely and fun post today.
Both pages are so much fun and so interesting. Love the little fold reindeer in your winter scene. Your famous people piece looks like a lot of work ... it's fun and Marie seems 'right at home. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces Chrissie, I especially love your Winter one! Thanks for your comment and visit,

Two awesome pieces Chrissie, love the winter page and the plump snowman. The digi page has so many eye catching additions, Marie looks very much at home in the room.

Wonderful pieces both of them Chrissie! Your painted piece looks fantastic with those lovely additions and the second one looks great too!Great choice of a famous person, Marie looks very happy looking down on those yummy cakes....!
ReplyDeleteYour first one really looks like a snowstorm with all those wonderful streaks of color, and I love the digital Marie piece too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Chrissie, I love the winter wonderland theme.

A fab page Chrissie love it x
ReplyDeleteWow - there's such amazing energy in your blustery snowy page - the paint textures are fantastic. Marie Antoinette is looking very elegant... I've read that what she said had something to do with brioche as opposed to cake - but I agree it still seems highly improbable.

Love your witty Marie Antoinette collage. The journal page is so fabulously wintry and I love the splashes of red from the robin and scarf.
ReplyDeleteI love your journal page - great textured snow! Marie Antoinette must have been a contender for the Bake Off of her day with those fabulous cakes! Hugs, Chrisx
