Journal Page and Card

Hi All. A lovely day here today and we went out for a walk early just in case it  the weather changed.  Thank you for joining me at Jumbled Crafts and I hope you enjoy what you find today.  Such lovely comments about my new header. The part where I added the snow is a painting I did in the 1990s.  Vic took a photo with me in it and I used the photograph as inspiration for my painting. We walked along in the snow in a place we had never been before, we were very lost and had to retrace our steps to find our way back home. Art Journal Journey   their challenge for December was chosen by dear  Valerie  and her theme this time is Light and Darkness I went a bit weird with my page today--so what's new? I played around with a photograph and ended up with this. At Always Use Rubber the theme this time is festival. I chose Christmas as I delved into my stamp box and found a Crafty Individual Stamp that has never been used. I used a piece of striped black...

Try it on Tuesday Celebrations

Image
Hello Everyone and thank you for your visit to Jumbled Crafts.  I'm sure many of you have come to see what the new challenge is at Try it on Tuesday . This time we have Celebrations as the theme so it will be great to see your makes and what they were made to celebrate. If you need inspiration the rest of team have some wonderful ideas so I hope you pop to TIOT and see what they have made. Also while you are there check out the few rules and then you can be sure you are following those with your entry. This is a card for a friend's son to celebrate his 50th brithday He is a keen cyclist and goes in for racing events so I found the best racing bike for 2016 and used a picture of that for the background and the main feature. The card photograph is a bit of a cheat really because when it was taken the card was in kit form. My friend has always said she would love to be able to make a card herself so I made up a kit with choices and had all the doubled sided tape and the foam tap...

Monday again. How quickly a new week comes around. Thank you for your visit and any comments that you leave-always great to hear from you. Moo Mania and More are asking for Tea and Coffee related projects Always time for either in our house  so I think I will also invite the 'T is for Tuesday' gang, at dear Elizabeth's blog , to join me on this post as well. though that won't be until tomorrow.   Every Inchie Monday is asking for 42 this week. The subjects have been taken this year from Hitch Hiker's Galaxy and I have never read it. Vic says 42 is the answer to everything so that's good enough for me. Enjoy your day Love Chrissie xx

Hello All. Hope your weekend is going well. Thank you for calling in today. I have been doing a lot of sport watching as usual and the snooker final is on the list for this afternoon. Art Journal Journey   their challenge for December was chosen by dear  Valerie  and her theme this time is Light and Darkness I painted a background then scanned it and added some digital effects. Nice way to be able to use painted backgrounds often instead of just once. Go Tag Thursday has Christmas Trees or Trees for their theme this week and also I am going to enter this at Dragon's Lair Designs where the theme for December is Christmas Wishes  For the tree shape I folded circles and put them inside each other and the wooden one I painted and added glitter. Hope you have a great day Love Chrissie xx

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts. Always nice to have you call in, thank you. I love the beginning of the month and all the new challenges on my favourite challenge blogs. Art Journal Journey is certainly one of my favourites and their challenge for December was chosen by dear Valerie and her theme this time is Light and Darkness Before I show my first page for this I would like to show you a collage of my  pages for AJJ last month It was a fun month as the theme said no leaves, no faces and no wings and I seem to have included those on a lot of my work without even realising that I had. I did put that right though and had fun doing it. This is definitely mixed media as I used as my background a picture I painted in 2004. I changed a photograph of the painting in Paint Shop Pro for this challenge by adding various effects Original painting-looks like a glass lighthouse? Have a great day all Love Chrissie xx

T Stands for Cats, crafting and Coffee

Hi All. Tuesday Again so time to welcome the T for Tuesday gang to join me in a drink related post for Altered Book Lover, Elizabeth Also a reminder that there is still a week to join us at Try it on Tuesday for our Layers Challenge I have noticed on my blog travels that many crafters have a cat or cats and I know first hand about that.  My daughter, Linda, has 3 cats and crafts as many hours as she has free in her busy life. How anyone crafts with cats is beyond me as when I go to visit Linda the cats are into everything. If I get out some knitting they have the wool in tangles and keep playing with the needles until the stitches all come off. If I choose some material to do a bit of patchwork it is the very piece that one or more of them decides to curl up and fall asleep-purring happily and loudly I might add. Paper crafting is no better they leave their mark on everything and one even chewed the edge of a card I had left to dry in the windowsill. They are so cute and I have t...

Hi All and Happy New week to you. Thank you for your visit today and the lovely comments that I always receive. A few days left at the Mixed Media Challenge so I thought I would join in as they have a colour challenge this time and I love doing those First of all I made a page of coloured squares from their photograph then I overlaid the scene on the coloured square to give them some texture I cut out the squares and die cut heart shapes to make the design. Some of the squares were left over so I used those as a background. At Every Inchie Monday this week we have Question as the challenge  Not very original-sorry. OK Why is a raven like a writing desk? Many have tried to answer that one and failed. Have a great day and a lovely week ahead Chrissie xx
