Inchie and Twinchies

Image
Hi All who pop by. Yesterday was really sunny and hot and I thought summer had arrived at last but today it is dismal and rather cold on the NE UK coast. Think I may go for a longish walk as it is better to do that when it is cooler. Well it is Monday again so time for Every Inchie Monday to have a new challenge. The theme this week is 'Story' but with only an inch square to work on I couldn't write much of a story Always love a good Love Story with the poor maiden being chased by a villain and a hero I also did some Twinchies for the Show Us your Twinchies Challenge-beautiful samples by the team as always. The subject this time is In a English Country Garden so it was off to look at the photographs of our garden which is just right for this challenge I made three of them smaller then added a brush strokes effect to them to make them look more Monet. Then I stuck them onto the 2x2 inch backgrounds and did the edges with Promarkers.  Nearly forgot I stuck some peel-offs on...

2 Challenges in one Post

Happy Sunday Everyone and hope your day is going well. It is the hottest day of the year so far here and I am sure the seafront will be full of happy holiday makers enjoying all the fun of the seaside. I have been crafting and gardening and will be watching the Wimbledon Final and German Grand Prix this afternoon so I am a happy bunny. At Twinchie Challenge Blog  the subject is Music and there are some wonderful examples by the DT This is the one I made. I should have put, 'To live without my music would be impossible to do,' because that is how I feel. I love most music and feel happy listening to it what ever else I am doing. The second challenge is at T ando Creative Blog  where we are asked to make something that shows our Favourite artist. I have always loved Monet paintings and especially the ones of his garden-it looks an amazing place to have created on canvas and in real life. I made this postcard with images of our flowers that Vic took this week in our small garden....

New Altered Art Challenge Blog

Image
Hello Everyone and welcome to my newest follower and also to the arrival of summer here in NE UK. It is really lovely again today and I have just been for a five mile walk so I am now ready to sit and watch the tennis later and not feel as though I should be outside in the sun. A new blog has just started and it is just right for the type of crafting I love to do. It is called Altered Eclectics  and has gathered together a wonderful team with some amazing altered projects so do pop along and have a look. The challenge monthly and will be Anything Goes every time so lots of time and lots of scope as well. Here is what I made for the first challenge-I bought a new, bigger easel this week as well so things look better than on the little one I hope. I started off with a very old table mat Gave it a thick coat of matt emulsion Next a coat of white emulsion and some blobs of alcohol ink-I dabbed most of it off with kitchen roll to leave a paler finish. Used Distressed ink for the edges. ...

Challenge 67 Out of a Hat

Image
Happy 4th of July to all of my friends in the US. Hello Everyone. Another week has flown by and it is time for this week's challenge at Out of a Hat. We have a new designer there for July so do come and meet her. This week the theme is Stars and Stripes I found a fairly large, plastic plant pot in the shed. Designed some paper from the American Flag image and printed it onto a canvas paper. Then I cover the plant pot with it. Made some big matching stars and added the red, white and blue ribbon top and bottom. It is just right to hold my everyday brushes and largest scissors. What a splash of colour it adds to the shelf. Hope you will pop and see what Sandra , Janet and Valerie have made and also join in with your own take on the theme if you have time. Love Chrissie x

Every Inchie Monday

Image
Hello Everyone--we have had a nice sunny day today here and lots of great tennis to watch so a good day for me Every Inchie Monday this week has' hour' as the theme and I was really struggling with this concept This is what I ended up making. Thank goodness I never had one of those type of alarm clocks--I have never really needed an alarm clock in my life I wake up earlier than I should and always have done. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing lol. Love Chrissie xx

Addicted to Stamps and More

Good morning All. The forecast says it is going to be sunny and hot today-yipee! Not much sign of the sun yet just lots of cloud but I am hopeful and hope the sun is shining where ever you are The challenge this week at Addicted to Stamps and More is Anythings Goes so I thought I would make a card with something I have been meaning to try for a long time This what I have been meaning to use for a long time. I bought the book at a charity shop for £1 and it is full of lots of pictures that will be great on projects. I cut out the little girl and fairy image then assembled various papers and card and a die cut shape that I got in swap. I did do faux stitching around the edge of the card but it doesn't show up very well. Great samples from the Addicted team as always. Love Chrissie x

Blue, Green and Yellow

Hello All--hope your day is going well. Vic took some wonderful photos in our garden yesterday so I thought I would share 3 of them with you. They do say that bees are in short supplies these days but our garden is full of them and they are so beautiful-this one was in and out of every flower on the pink foxglove. I was up early so had a go at the Craft Room Challenge  where the theme this time is to only use yellow, blue or green to make something. Wasn't sure if black and white could be used so I just stuck to the three. I cut a piece of card 4x6 inches and painted it with acrylic in the three colours. Then I took a few pens in the colours and did some fantasy artwork. It is fun to just let your imagination run riot sometimes. Love Chrissie x
